Millwall striker makes substitute appearance in Wales loss

JERMAINE EASTER came off the bench in Wales’ defeat to the Netherlands on Tuesday night.

Easter replaced Charlton striker Simon Church after 67 minutes but was unable to help his national team overturn the deficit.

The Millwall forward had an instant impact with his only effort on goal, a right-footed tramadol effort, which was well saved well by Dutch goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen.

Arjen Robben opened the scoring for Holland in their final warm up game before their World Cup campaign kicks-off next Friday.

Jeremain Lens doubled the host’s lead on 76 minutes, nine minutes after Easter’s arrival.

Just a question really, I notice there was no Bale in the side, is Easter keeping him out of the squad? If he is, I say we offload him now for £82 million. He looks pretty sharp in front of goal (he did have a shot on target) Ambler make this deal happen to free up some wiggle room for Ollie.

And according to the reports I read, he missed a one on one with the keeper. And there in lies the problem. None of our strikes last season could finish the few chances we created including Easter and I don't know why we gave him another contract. Bench warmer at best.

Strikers make all the difference, anyone who went to the den last season watching any of our strikers were hoping they would score from a one on one not expecting them to and I think that was the mind set of the strikers themselves. In most games we created chances and it was one farcical miss after another. I am positive Ollie will secure a decent striker as well as blooding O'Brien and giving him his chance. I truly believe if you're good enough you're old enough.

@block 28: He us poor. Needed rid - purse sows ear etc. Hurry up and get some goal scorers in Ollie not 'strikers'. We had plenty of those wage thieves and still have some but no more!
