Millwall credited with interest in Norwich City striker Martin

MILLWALL are reported to be one of a number of Championship clubs keeping tabs on unwanted Norwich City striker Chris Martin.

Sky Sports claim the 23-year-old is also on the radars of Burnley, Bolton, Birmingham and Crystal Palace, for whom Martin scored seven goals during a loan spell last season.

It would not be the first time the Lions have shown an interest in the one-time England U19 international, having made an enquiry for the frontman last summer.

Boss Kenny Jackett wanted to sign Martin as part of the deal that took Steve Morison to Carrow Road in June 2011, but he rejected the move in favour of fighting for a first-team place with the Canaries.

However, he joined Palace in mid-November after making just four Premier League appearances and has now been told to find a new club on a permanent basis.

Jackett yesterday admitted he would be keen to sign another striker this summer following the departures of frontmen Josh McQuoid, who has signed for Bournemouth, and Tottenham loanee Harry Kane, who has returned to White Hart Lane.

It was suggested last week that Millwall had tabled an offer for Wycombe Wanderers striker Stuart Beavon, but NewsAtDen has been assured those reports are premature.

The Chairboys are braced for a summer of interest in their top scorer, who bagged 25 goals in 45 appearances despite the club's relegation from League One, and are believed to value the 28-year-old at a hefty £750,000.
