Michael Calvin's The Nowhere Men up for annual book gong

MICHAEL Calvin, the author who wrote a book about Millwall's 2010 promotion to the Championship, has been shortlisted for a national award.

Family: Life, Death and Football, which offered a behind-the-scenes glance at Kenny Jackett's regime and the inner-workings of his dressing room, was a huge hit with Lions fans.

Since then, Calvin has been exploring the state of scouting in English football and last year published his findings in The Nowhere Men.

Having already scooped the Football Book of the Year award, The Nowhere Men is now up for The Times Sports Book of the Year award. You can vote here.

@glyngo: Agree. Should be required reading for all new players and backroom staff. Neil Harris to explain any bits they don't get.

@Jim28: It's not a history of the Lions! Just follows them for one season. A great behind the scenes look at the club. Highly recommended.

If you want a book about the inside of Millwall (albeit 1970s) read Eamon Dumphy's "Only a Game" great read and enjoy what he writes about the Anoraks!
