Link with Crystal Palace frontman denied by Millwall CEO

MILLWALL have denied suggestions that the club is in talks with former Crystal Palace striker Aaron Wilbraham about a two-year contract at The Den.

Wilbraham, 34, has been told that he will not be offered a new deal by the Eagles and so will become a free agent at the end of June.

And it has been reported that Lions are keen to snap up the frontman, who played regularly under boss Ian Holloway during his time in charge at Selhurst Park.

But chief executive Andy Ambler said: "Wilbraham is not a player that has been discussed at the moment. We're looking at lots of options but that isn't one that's been discussed."

    This proves that we should ignore all the rumours we hear that we are interested in this player and that player. Lets wait for the announcements of who we have actually signed.

        @MFC Lion:
        Knowing the stuffy FA it is probably not written anywhere and just taken as read that women cannot play in a men's team but the way some of the Prem players act and the way they are driving contact out of the game I'm sure due to political correctness they will allow mixed teams in 50 years.
        As they say about age "if you're good enough, you are in" someone will argue for sexual equality one day soon.

    I'm personally glad we aren't looking at him!

    Just like the Hoff his goal scoring record is terrible, but he is a good target man who holds up the ball, brings others into play and draws defenders away from the quick guys (which we will sign).

    Holloway will definitely want a big man up front, just hope he plucks for someone a little younger.

    Ollie has stated that he wants to bring the average age of the squad down, so this makes no sense particularly in light of Edwards and Forde being offered new contracts. Maybe this has been thrown out as a rumour to gauge the fans reaction?

    If Holloway wants a big target man with some quick boys around him. Wilbrhams isn't a target man and he's definitely not quick. I know he is 29/30, but Georgios Samaras is a free agent at the minute... Got to be better than the HOF.

    Just because we've been seen talking to Palace doesn't mean it's him, I'd be more happy if it was Murray, then we just need a diver to get him the penalties. Not sure I'd be happy with him, but then who'd sign a 35 year old full back?

        Better than signing say a 24 year old useless donkey on a 3 year contract that were then stuck with.
