SCOTT Malone is confident he can be a success in the Championship after signing a three-year deal with Millwall.

The 21-year-old wing back joined the Lions yesterday from Bournemouth in a swap deal that has seen striker Josh McQuoid move the other way.

And the Wolves academy product is relishing the opportunity to come up against his former club, who sold him to the Cherries for £150,000 in January, in the second tier next season.

"I've always said I think I can do it at Championship level, so I'll come in for pre-season, knuckle down and work hard, and my aim is to start the first game," Malone told the club's official site.

"I owe Wolves everything. I was there from the age of ten or 11, and my aim was to always play for them. That wasn't to be, but with Wolves coming down to the Championship and me signing for Millwall, I'm playing at a similar level now.

"I was preparing to go back to Bournemouth for the start of pre-season and to have another go at getting out of League One, but then my agent rang me and said Kenny [Jackett] was interested.

"I've been on two holidays since the end of the season so I've only been in the country for about three days overall.

"I scored six goals last season and I've told the manager that I'm coming here to score goals."
