MILLWALL will move for Blackpool goalkeeper Matt Gilks IF David Forde fails to agree a new contract and leaves the club this summer.
NewsAtDen understands that Gilks features prominently in manager Ian Holloway's transfer plans even though the Lions' top priority is to keep hold of Forde.
Forde confirmed after last weekend's man-of-the-match performance against Bournemouth that he hopes to finalise an extension on his current deal, which expires next month.
But contingency plans are in place for if negotiations break down, and Gilks, who Holloway managed during his time at Bloomfield Road, would be the prime target to replace Forde.
The 31-year-old Scotland international will also be available on a free transfer come July as his contract with the Tangerines comes to an end.
Speaking last week about his future, Gilks said: "I'm going to go away and turn my phone off for a couple of weeks. I'll let my agent do all the talking and see what happens.
"Nobody at Blackpool has spoken to me about my future, but first of all I will give my body a rest and get a bit of sun on my back."
Gilks is Blackpool's captain and won the club's Player of the Year award this season.
