McQuoid: Lack of playing time at Millwall was "hard to take"

STRIKER Josh McQuoid has admitted that not playing regular football at Millwall was "hard to take".

McQuoid made just 12 appearances after joining the Lions for £550,000 in January 2011 and sealed a return to former club Bournemouth yesterday.

"It was going to be hard for me to get a Championship club because I haven't been playing at Millwall," he told the BBC.

"When Bournemouth took an interest it was a good option for me.

"It's hard to take because when I went to Millwall, I was playing well but then I picked up an injury straight away. That was tough, as was not getting in the team.

"There are a lot of good players at that level and if the team was playing well or struggling, it's hard [for the manager] to put new players in. I felt I picked up a bit of form during my loan at Burnley and hopefully I can carry that on next season."

Is this a straight swap or did we pay on top for Malone's signature? If it was mcQuoid & fee for Malone's signature, then we've paid how much in total for a full back?

    About £750,000 - i.e. McQuoid's value plus a few hundred grand.

Fair enough if good enough and is KJ going down the 3-5-2 route? Or in other words, are we going to become a push & run team like the Spurs side of the 60s cos that what I thought I was watching at the back end of last season?
