Lions board to rectify "mistakes" during three-day meeting

THE Millwall board will meet with Ian Holloway next week to set out the club's future strategy – and analyse the mistakes made this season.
The Lions hierarchy will descend on The Grove hotel in Hertfordshire for their annual three-day sit down after the final game of the campaign against Bournemouth on Saturday.
Chief executive Andy Ambler has revealed discussions will centre on the errors made by the board over the past 12 months, and said a plan would be put in place to rectify them.
Decisions could also be taken on Millwall's out-of-contract players.
"The whole board will be there, and the manager," Ambler said. "That's the four American board members, plus the UK-based board, which includes Peter Garston.
"Next week's meeting is purely football strategy and we will be discussing the way to move the club forward, and we hope to be doing that in the Championship.
"We'll be putting together a plan for the next two to four years.
"The meeting will be all-encompassing but focused solely on the football side of the club. The board meets regularly to discuss commercial strategy and other parts of the business.
"The manager will be spelling out the direction he wants to go in next season and will have an open discussion with the board about that.
"We have to discuss the implications of Financial Fair Play, because the rules are changing, and then move on to discuss individual players at some point.
"But this is more a meeting about the overall structure which those players fit into. It's a full on three days of setting out the future.
"We'll be discussing at length the academy and our recruitment policies.
"We've got a manager who wants to be with us for a long time and a manager with a proven track record, but we'll look back and admit to mistakes.
"Kenny Jackett resigned at this meeting last year, which was a tough time and possibly when some of the mistakes were made.
"We'll look to rectify the mistakes made this season and learn from those. Any mistakes that were made were made honestly."
this is good News , it needs to be sorted out quickly, get some New Blood in, out with the Old! Millwall must start to Win Matches for the Club, but mostly for the Faithful Fans.
Steve lomas, loanees, wage thiefs

As Moyes knows football is a results business!
Your results Andy Ambler have been poor, very poor.
The conclusion is inevitable.
The last two seasons has shown we need to develop a settled team - preferably based on our own squad. The number of inferior-quality loans coming in has not been beneficial and just devalues wearing the Millwall shirt. How many players have made their debuts for us this season? - its ridiculous.
Off the pitch the club genuinely needs to develop a better relationship with it's support - Ambler has become a hate-figure and even the FOTB only got 10% of members votes.
Garston beat turner by 648 votes to,362 hardly a landslide victory
Told u he would be on here before sat. He can't help himself. How can he talk about football matters when he knows f*** all about it.
@block 28: this meeting should take about 10 seconds, Steve lomas = f**king useless t*at!,meeting over. COYL!!!
@Jim28: @333lions: Yes lomas was / is a t***, but lets agree on who bought this idiot to our club - there should be a banner in the board room, not to employ managers from scotland, they are useless - example jimmy nicholls another great advert for not employing managers who have just managed scottish clubs - i believe most of us knew before a kick of a ball we knew where we were heading this season under lomas
HAVE YOU FORGOT THE DOC ? & GRAHAM WAS THEY NOT SCOTS.?
@block 28: got to give you that one..your m8 flop on the board has a article in the SLP ..first of jb is pleased he got re elected..flop says he got 4 life bans overturnf cos they put there hands up to it.but he cant say anything cos its private..(fink you just did flop)..plus he done fink much of particular sites wonder which 1 hes having a pop at.
@Jim28: Well hopefully some positives come from this meeting , i think we all know that we have a good manager in Ollie & all said & done he & the players have given us a chance of staying up which looks good , as i just cant see doncaster getting a result at leicester or even birmingham at bolton but a win for us on saturday would be nice to finish off & p*** off them teams anyway .
Get the HOME form/results sorted, then perhaps the fans will return/turn up.
28 Home defeats in the last 3 seasons is unMillwall like and the lack of goals/performances is a real problem.
Then the fans may come in numbers that JB wants.
@Longfield Lion: Perhaps the investment in pitch spoken about to suit Holloway's desired style of play will give a good edge for next season in home games.
@SE14: Perhaps they may invest in a mower and roller for the training ground as it must be like a ploughed field with the number of injuries we get there.
anyone got a preference who they would like to go down - birmingham or doncaster !!! i'll go for birmingham
@Jingles: Birmingham. A team we are sure to never get more than 2 points a season from.
@SE14:
Birmingham muggy northern horrible s*** cxxxs
@Jingles: Birmingham, it will be payback for when they pipped us for promotion from the old div 2 on the last day of the season when we thought we were up.
I have no problem with AA at all, he does a decent job and is often the scapegoat for the mistakes of the board, over which he has no overal veto. I think people should get off his back, he fights our cause in meetings with the FA where just shouting C**T at people simply isn't going to get results.
@glyngo: totally agree he does a difficult job well I think. So who would the mugs who want him out rather have some Malaysian crook or an Italian crook or a Russian crook grow up FFS.
@glyngo: ok ambler can u please leave your services are no longer needed.
I foresee a 3 day jolly up with golf, cigars, massages and backslapping and then things will carry on as normal with decrepid loanees and talentless egotists queuing to inflate their pension pots! Will any time be spared to discuss the clubs relationship with it's supporters?
The board must take the major share of the blame for the mistakes they have made not only this year but the year before that as well. I hope JB takes the bull by the horns and shakes the whole club up from top to bottom. get rid of the hangers on, streamline the club and give IH the resources he needs to take the club forward. No more seasons like the last two, our supporters ha shown their commitment by the numbers who have bought tickets for tomorrow's game, please don't let them down.
@Peckhamlad: JB said he personally made the choice of Lomas , so JB should resign ......get real, they made a mistake they know that now and in Holloway have more than made up for it.
It totally makes sense for them to review the past mistakes, plan for the future and set out the strategy for the short and medium term future of the club, players etc. If they didn't then that's when us on here should be screaming. I doubt the majority of people on this site, including me, would have the skill or knowledge to do a better job given the resources the club have, so lets see what they come up with before telling all and sundry to do one.
Lions board to rectify "mistakes" during three-day meeting - It takes 3 days to sack Ambler?!
