IAN Holloway and Nicky Bailey are among the nominees for the Championship manager and player of the month awards.

The Lions played six matches during April, winning three and drawing three, and head into the final day of the season on Saturday two points above the relegation zone.

Holloway recalled midfield general Bailey to the side for Millwall's visit to Nottingham Forest at the start of the month and the Lions have not been beaten since.

Sean Dyche, Oscar Garcia and Nigel Pearson will rival Holloway for the manager gong, while Bailey is up against Adam Bogdan, Rudy Gestede, Jason Shackell to scoop the player award.

The winners will be announced on Friday.

Hollaway and bailey should get the prize..more bailey then olly cos his performances have been first class.the fact he was carrying an injury proves he deserves it..never been a fan of M.OTM

@Jim28: Same as I posted on the other post but more relevant here maybe:
I absolutely agree about Bailey. When we first came into the team I thought we've got a proper general here, the sort of bloke you want alongside you to push you along, and someone who has a lot of ability too. Unfortunately he did have a bit of a drop of form, but I think that may well have been because of injuries that he was carrying. I was up at Forest for the beginning of our revival (Derby aside) and for me it was all about him providing that drive for the 60 minutes or so that he was on.
What I'm really looking forward to is a midfield of Williams (amazing poise and the ability to take a good free kick, Upson (industry and no small measure of ability) and Bailey (ditto, with great drive thrown in). I think that is a powerful trio, and for me Garvan would be no more than cover at best, but from his comments, I think it looks like he wants to go somewhere that would recognise the immense talents that he possesses in his head.

Unfortunately I think Gestede will scoop the players award given the amount of goals he has scored. As for Ollie, probably better off without it, we all know what happens in the next game after getting manager of the month. Seriously though he does deserve it.

Cant they give it to Lee Clarke instead just to be on the safe side? IH fully deserves it, but the FA have probably got a witch doctor in to make sure the curse if MOTM hasn't worn off. Then they'll present it to IH just before kick off before walking back to their seats laughing and waiting for the inevitable.

Nicky Bailey should get the award cause he plays for the badge and does not take any rubbish. Since he has been back our form has improved so if he hadnt been injured we would of probably been unbeaten a lot longer and safe from relegation weeks ago!

Where's all the people that were calling Ollie a 'clown' and saying that Bailey was a 'wage thief' ? Very quiet now.
