Holloway disappointed that Millwall's season is nearly over

IAN Holloway will have mixed feelings if Millwall stay up on Saturday.

The Lions go into their final-day decider against Bournemouth this weekend looking to end the season on an eight-game unbeaten run.

If Millwall go another match without defeat, and avoid relegation in the process, Holloway admits he will be disappointed that the campaign is over.

He said: "Saturday is another opportunity and if we can play as well as we have done again, I'll be a bit disappointed that the season has ended.

"We've just got things going – it's felt like a long time but it's starting to come. Ideally I'd want us to keep playing like this.

"It was a big task and a big job for me, and I want to see some sunlight bursting out the end of the tunnel come 5pm on Saturday

"It's nice to see the lads playing well because I wouldn't want them to go into the summer remembering how poor our form had been – if anything I wish we had more games.

"The most important thing is that they're feeling good about each other because that isn't easy when you've been losing for so long.

"Hopefully we can finish off the job that nobody thought we'd do."

NO WORRIES WE WILL GET THE WIN AGAINST BOURNEMOUTH FC. THE FORM OUR TEAM HAS SHOWN WILL BE ENOUGH TO SEE US THROUGH. OLLIE YOU HAVE MANAGED TO DO WHAT YOU CAME TO DO THIS SEASON! NOW, THE REAL WORK BEGINS, START WITH MEETING SOME OF THE MILLWALL FANS I A LOCAL PUB FOR A PINT OR TWO. THEN GET SOME NEW GOOD PLAYERS READY TO COME TO MFC, NOT FORGETTING TO ALLOW SOME CURRENT TEAM MEMBERS TO LEAVE, THEN SUMMER HOLIDAY BREAK ??? ( WELL , WE ALL KNOW PLAYERS HAVE ALREADY HAD THAT IN PORTUGAL ) NO ONE LIKES US, WE DONT CARE. STORMIN' NORMAN. .......PS.SORRY FOR THE LONG POST.

I'll be glad to see the back of it - just like last season too. It's been great to experience this little run, but it's still been a bloody awful season - and that elusive home-win is long over-due.

As long as we stay up, we can enjoy the summer and hopefully go into next season with a lot more confidence.

It's been a long haul and mistakes made early on has once again made it a terrible season. Hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel and IH can rebuild his team over the summer., shed a few and make some quality signings.

Some of us thought it was possible to stay up Holloway.
Finish it off on Saturday and you will save me a few quid at the bar.
I am looking forward to the end of this season as long as we survive.
Please just get the team to focus on a win Saturday and nothing else.
    Fantastic turnaround. Well done.

There is going to be a s**** load of injury time if he is walking down the tunnel at 5, it's a 12.15 kick off, hope we are 4-0 up going into it as my nerves are shot already.

We'll yes the finish of the season reminds me of the time we came from nowhere to claim a play - off place. Now, when we survive after this match on Saturday, we still have to have a clear out ( sorry faithfuls ) , we don't wish to have another season like the last two! Good new young blood injected into the Millwall FC team, for us Super Fans to support.

I am so nervous about this game. I have an awful feeling that the gods will be against us. On another note, my son, 10yrs old, is a ballboy at the game, so if you or your family run onto the pitch, watch out for the small kids please.

It's exciting, first of all gotta stay up. 95 mins to fully focus get the job done then prepare 100% for the new season. Sort of disappointed the season didn't run another couple of months so we could make our run for the playoffs.

Come rain or shine, I just don't think the Bournemouth players will cope with the atmosphere, I think everyone's ears will be ringing by the end of it, a goal in the first 20 mins to keep the fans roaring and I can see it being an open game COYL's.

I don't get this 'two sh¥t seasons stuff'? We flirted with the play-offs until Xmas last year and got to an FA Cup semi! Yeah our league form was shocking after new year but fk me the last Saturday was exciting! Effectively we've had 11 playing months of poor league form that turned good in March & April. Hopefully we can have another nine months of good league form!

Take Coventry for example. They have not finished in the top 6 for the last 40 seasons. What they would of give to have our last few seasons. It certainly aint been dull.

Personally, I can't wait for this season to be over. I hate the close season, and summer drags but this has been a very turbulent few months. I trust the gods are smiling on us by Saturday at 2pm.
Then a player clear-out akin to a triple enema. Close season, new arrivals - but this time with Ollie steering the ship. Not someone with two eye patches.

@Breadbin: Money talks. You can watch live games at home cos you pay for it. Watch games in the pub cos your pint pays for it. The days of Jimmy Hill and Brian Moore and long behind us. I'm of the mindset however, that everything changes. Sky will soon enough be free because technology evolves. Always someone or something waiting in the wings. Always a faster gunslinger in town. Always. Wait and see.

Obviously would like us to end the season on a high and see another win but can you see Donny getting anything at Leicester or brum getting a win?

I can't and the bookies have us 16/1 to go down, they rarely get it wrong.

Intersting and a bit worrying betting odds on skysports for Saturday's games

Bolton 6/4 win, Birmingham 6/4 win, 5/2 draw
    Leicester4/6 win, Doncaster 18/5 win, 14/5 draw
Millwall 23/20 win, Bournemouth 21/10 win, draw 12/5

So Birmingham seems fancied to win at Bolton. We have to win to make sure.

      @Peckhamlad: My predictions:-
      Birmingham to draw
      Doncaster to lose
      Millwall to win
Only need 2 of those 3 to come in, and we're safe.
As much as I obviously want us to stay up, I so hope we don't do so having LOST tomorrow. That would put a real dampener on what's been a tremendous effort over the previous 7 games. Holloway ... do a Mourinho and PARK 2 BUSES IN FRON OF OUR GOAL. No goal conceded and surely that would make us safe?! It's only Thursday morning and I'm already as nervous as hell.

And now, the end is here,
And so we face, the final match,
My friend, I'll say it clear,
To win on Sat, there is a plot that we must hatch,
The fans, have lived a season, full of up's and full of down's,
We travelled to games, using each and ev'ry highway,
But more, much more than this,
    We'll stay up,
    Cos we got hollllllla-way.

Yeah Ok ... so you can't quite sing it Frank Sinatra styleee ... but it was the best I could do.
