DARIUS Henderson has been the name on the lips of most Millwall fans in recent weeks – and he will be similarly favoured by punters this weekend.
The striker's back-to-back hat-tricks over the course of five days mean that he is rightly seen by bookmakers as Millwall's most-likely source of goals for Saturday's visit of Southampton.
As is well known, the Lions have struggled to find the back of the net for much of this season – of the 18 matches Henderson (pictured) has started, for example, they have scored in just 11.
However, of those 11 games, Henderson has scored the first goal of the match five times and found the net later on in another two.
He is best-priced at 6/1 to score first against the Saints with Ladbrokes, who also have him at 7/4 to score at any time.
Furthermore, anyone who think he will complete the rare feat of managing three consecutive trebles can find him at 80/1 to score a hat-trick with sportingbet.
Liam Trotter, meanwhile, seems to have responded well to being handed the captain's armband in Paul Robinson's absence.
The midfielder has five goals to his name this season, including a double in his last home game as captain, the 3-2 victory over Doncaster in November. He also struck the first goals of the game in draws against Peterborough and Middlesbrough.
Ladbrokes have him at an attractive 14/1 to score first and 9/2 to notch at any stage of the game.
As for the match itself, the visitors go into the match as slight favourites at a best price of 8/5 with Coral, compared to Millwall at 19/10 with Ladbrokes. The draw is 12/5 with Coral.
Those prices are largely based on the two teams' contrasting Championship fortunes – while Southampton sit second in second place and look on course for back-to-back promotions, Millwall are very much in the midst of a relegation fight.
However, the Lions do go into this fixture on the back of an upturn in form, having won 5-0 in their third-round replay against Dagenham & Redbridge before a surprise 3-1 victory at Barnsley last season.
Nigel Adkins' Saints, on the other hand, have endured a somewhat difficult few weeks, winning just three of their last nine games, and were beaten 2-0 at St. Mary's by Leicester last Saturday.
Crucially, though, they will be boosted by the return of the Championship's top goalscorer Rickie Lambert from suspension, while new signing Tadanari Lee will be available.
Still, we think the Lions are good value for their price given their recent improvement in form. Millwall draw no bet at 11/10 with Paddy Power looks tempting.
As for a scoreline, we expect a tight encounter. Only eight of the Lions' 32 games so far this season have seen both sides find the goal, while only four of the Saints' last 12 matches have gone that way. It's 11/10 with Paddy Power that one or both sides do not score.
Millwall to win 1-0 is 17/2 with Coral, while they make it 15/2 for the same scoreline in Southampton's favour. No goalscorer at 10/1 with Skybet is also worth considering.
