Holloway looking forward to "exciting" Easter for Millwall

IAN Holloway says his side go into an "exciting" Easter weekend double-header full of confidence after stringing together a four-game unbeaten run.

The Lions travel to Middlesbrough tomorrow before hosting Doncaster Rovers at The Den on Monday knowing that a positive set of results would go a long way to securing safety.

Millwall's task could be made easier if results elsewhere go their way on Friday afternoon, but Holloway has already told his players to focus solely on their own performances.

And they have been boosted by an upturn in form over recent weeks, which has seen the Lions win two and draw two in their last four outings.

"We'll have a game in hand this time tomorrow and we could be a point behind Barnsley, but that means everything is down to us," Holloway said.

"The team has gained some more confidence from coming back from behind last weekend, which we haven't done many times this season.

"We've got to keep going, keep believing and get as good a result as we can. If we can get a point, that'd be brilliant, if we can get a win that would be absolutely fantastic.

"We have got the beginnings of a midfield that can pass and organise, so hopefully that will stand us in good stead.

"We have four games to get promoted. Where we are in the league is no good, so we need promotion-winning form – which is four points from every two games.

"Anybody who saw our last four games will be talking about the spirit, the way we've played and our composure. It's starting to come.

"Middlesbrough is one of my lucky grounds – a bit like Derby is as well. I've won there a few times and it's probably my best hunting ground.

"When did we last have an Easter weekend that was as exciting as this one? Last season went down to the last five minutes, so if we can be safe before then that's an improvement.

"But in terms of what we've spent, it's not an improvement and that's got to be sorted out with a policy and a new signing strategy in the summer.

"That'll happen regardless of which division we're in but I'm confident it will be in this one."

Do you think they got a group discount? Do they have minicabs booked at the other end?

No article regarding Fordey winning the player of the year award?? Shame on you lot!!
Congratulations to Millwall and Irelands no.1 !!
Kind of surprised he won it, as it looked most of us on this site were voting for Malone on Woolly... who came 2nd and 3rd respectively .... (I voted for Malone)
I didn't mention Forde in my prediction for player of the year, however I'm pleased that he won it coz I felt he got a lot of undeserved stick this season. IMO he has come on leaps and bounds from a few seasons ago and we're lucky to have him. I would even go as far as saying we would already be down if it weren't for some the world class saves he's made at crucial times. Hope we can keep hold of him for next season.... COYL.
