Preview: Millwall vs. Watford

ED Upson will sit out Millwall's clash with Watford through suspension.

Upson picked up his tenth booking of the season against Wigan on Tuesday, a week before the amnesty date for yellow cards, and thus serves a two-match ban.

Shaun Williams is poised to replace Upson in the starting line up, although Jimmy Abdou is another option available to manager Ian Holloway.

Carlos Edwards, who scored the Lions' winner at the DW Stadium, looks set to recover from a tight hamstring in time to face the Hornets, having trained on Friday.

Holloway has said that he may restore fit-again Jermaine Easter to the bench after praising the striker's performances in training in recent days.

Richard Chaplow has resumed light training after an Achilles problem but will not feature. Danny Shittu has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Watford's Marco Cassetti is suspended but Fernando Forestieri (toe) and Fitz Hall (Achilles) are set to return to the squad.

All we need to do is neutralise Deeney and we'll be fine. Oh and Anya and Abdi. Maybe Forestieri also & definitely McGugan. Christ they have a strong squad. But the question is do they have The Giant?

This was always on the cards. Think we should have been playing him all the time from the off and then this ban would have been out of the way.

Not our fault he got most of these pts playing for two bob outfit ( yeovil )..but rules are rules just a pity he couldn't hold out for a week..at least it will show us how good williams really is..cos i think it has taken him longer to settle.mainly cos he has played in 3 different positions

@Jim28: Agree. At least IH has got some alternatives to rely on for once - in Williams or Abdou.
CM, along with our whole defense have been SO depleted - it's a good thing Bailey is back in the mix to ease this constant selection headache.
Nice to see that IH has found some kind of consistency in the back 4 as well - hopefully Williams can finally get a chance to settle into the position we bought him for! COYL.

@Luke ColdBlow10: like ya said Luke, finally it's looking like settling a bit and the newies gettin some game time to gel etc. measured defence with some quick action onto the head of the big hoffenhyman may see the big unit get on the scoresheet but whatever happens hope the boys can get the job done for us. Millwall stand tall !!!

Good to see back to back wins and the manager talking some sense, both have been sorely missed this season. I've said before that Holloway is a streak manager, long losing runs and long winning (or undefeated) runs. As much as I still don't like the man I have a feeling he might have us on a run now. But Watford could still make the play-offs with a superior goal difference and a game in hand so given that Forest are sinking faster than my US Masters bet on 'Old Leftie' and that Wigan rested eight players for Wembley, this is our toughest game of the three. A draw here with other results going our way would not be a disaster. The fly in the ointment looks like Blackpool away at Leeds as three points looks a distinct possibility for them.

Completely off subject, all games kick off at 15:07 tomorrow in remembrance of Hillsborough and there is even a 96 minute remembrance walk in Phoenix Park, Dublin tomorrow. With all due respect to those that died and the families that suffered, I often wonder if the football 'family' reaction and media support would be the same had 96 Millwall fans, even my friends/family, been killed in similar circumstances? The infamous Luton night wasn't far away from a disaster, long before any fighting broke out.
    Controversial food for thought maybe?
Nevertheless, best wishes to the victims families in their continued fight for justice.

No you are right it would have happened at Luton and could have happend at the old den I have been to games where it was to tight to breath but the real criminals are the those who allowed the game to go ahead in a ground which didn't have a licence and South Yorkshire police for opening that gate rip those 96 innocent fans

@lion.ie: 39 juventus fans died in 1985 when Liverpool fans ran them across a terrace. I dont remember the scousers having a minutes silence for them.

@lion. If the media had done their job probably & not get on the I hate millwall campaign hillsborough could of been avoided. They should remember their fans. But they don't have to keep ramming it down our throats.

I'm so nervous for this game,
Looks like we may have a "winning formula" as KJ was rambling about finding last season, Only tomorrow will tell- 3 points would be f***** brilliant if we can.

They surely owe us win by now ???!!

just checked the online ticket site and we haven't sold many tickets for tomorrow - looks like being a small crowd which is shameful given the last two results - I don't know what we have to do to get people to attend - I see from Watford site they sold about 1000 with POTD maybe another couple of hundred - we had better have a good turnout POTD or it will be embarrassing - why is there such apathy for such a big game?

    Ok,mates!
Very simple task for tomorrow,go into the field aggressive and confident, then win!!!
Without any frenzy, without pleasantries, they must immediately understand that it's not a match for them, that they'll simply leave the field defeated, with no escape!

At our game in adelaide today a couple of thousand of us marched to adelaide oval making s*** loads of noise, flags waving holding up traffic and then the mighty port adelaide went on to win by 113 points, I'm hoping so much that the wall boys can do similar and inflict a big loss on Watford. Get down there and support the lads, they been doin the right things by us, let's return the favour. Gd luck and give em heeps.
