Blackburn striker's loan stint at Millwall to be cut short

MILLWALL are set to cancel the loan deal of striker DJ Campbell.

Campbell is returning to parent club Blackburn after he was re-arrested in connection with allegations of spot-fixing.

The 32-year-old was initially held by the National Crime Agency in December but was taken in for questioning again last week.

The Lions will continue to hold Campbell's registration but he will spend the final four weeks of the season training with Rovers, who will also pay his wages in full.

Chief executive Andy Ambler told the Southwark News: "We are totally focused on doing all we can to remain in the Championship.

"We considered the situation DJ is in and felt it best for all parties, including the player, that we release him from his loan here."
