It's got to be dunne for the way he keeps bouncing back even when some s*** him off. How many more positions will he play in. Proper millwall

@block 28: Dunne is my second choice, he certainly deserves a lot of credit for this season when all else around him was falling apart.

@glyngo: F*** Dunne, he's s***! He's slagged off for good reason. "All else around him was falling apart." Falling apart when he gets red carded in important matches and makes mistakes that directly lead to goals!

@Jim28: Well that's b******* as I don't get on anybody elses back, unless deserved. I love supporting Millwall and the players, but people blindly worship him because he's supposed to be Millwall through-and-through. When I watch him I don't even see the effort and passion that bods on here speak of. The only time he looks comfortable is when trying to have a fight with the opposition if an argument flares up. He is the worst footballer I have seen in 25 years of watching Millwall.

          @alpha_dogg:

Whilst I respect your right to your views.....has it completely escaped your attention that once he was made captain and moved to the middle of the defence we went eight games unbeaten and avoided relegation......surely you can find it within yourself to forgive him for a red card or two.....If it is true about the training ground bust up and the complete turn around in fortunes since, with even IH saying he made six changes for that Saturdays game then it could almost be argued that he was pivotal in our staying up. I also like a thread of continuity with one or two Robbo as well being one club players ...they were there in the good times it is a bit un-Millwall to turn your back on them in the bad times.....would you chuck your dog out if he broke his leg.
I have met Dunne a few times on the street proper gentleman always time for a quick word, he might not have the skill of Messi but he has the heart of a Lion and embodies proper Millwall principles as his training ground intervention showed, one of the highlights of us staying up is that he was able to answer his critics.....some of whom may have at least forwarded some constructive comments.....you Alpha_dog are a proper knob head

Can we organise a poll .....a simple vote who do the vast majority of supporters want to keep at the club Alan Dunne or Alpha_knob

woolford got my vote for many reasons.
    1. he is top scorer and them goals will be instrumental in our survival.
    2. he works f****** hard
    3. he's proved everyone of us wrong who wanted him gone at the start of the year (me included)
    4. he can play and will play where he's asked without whining
    5. he's without doubt the most consistent
    6. he's been involved in pretty much every good we have done this year
    7. not once has he come out with any excuses all season
    8. he's our most fielded player this year and that's for a good reason
    9. when he's had an off week he's always bounced back .
    10. he's a 100% committed to the cause

Malone just pipped Woolford in my opinion, based on consistancy mainly. I knew Woolford was capable of producing when we signed him just wasn't sure how often he would show it but I have to admit, like a lot of others, I thought Malone was league 1 at best before this season but he has been superb. None of the others in the squad can say they have had a good season overall.

3 points at boro & 3 on monday and i will start believing the great escape is on!

Its between Woolford or Malone for me- Both have showed tremendous effort throughout the season- Woolford has scored some crucial goals and shown great skill... and Malones work rate has really impressed me this season.. still not the finished article yet in his delivery, but the guy just doesn't stop running. Well done to both.
Honestly though, there would've been a lot more candidates involved in this if it weren't for all the injuries we've had... I reckon Bailey in particular deserves a mention as he's showed a good work rate from the beginning... If it weren't for his injury and had he had the time to improve his game under IH - I think he would've been a serious contender.... I also think Morro has worked himself into the ground this season- hasn't been as clinical in recent times... but works his a**e off - off the ball and has scored some vital goals for us this season.... COYL.

Well that was probably the easiest vote I've ever cast.
    MARTIN WOOLFORD, absolute no brainer.
under kj I thought he was our worst player last season but this season it became evident that he is an attacking midfielder who is only happy to attack cause he cant defend for s***.
when taylor decided to jump ship I was gutted cause he's a good player, but woolford has filled the void handsomely imo.
Good work martin but I ask for a wee bit more in the next 4 games as your form is vital to our chances of staying up.

No one vote for Dunne, yet.
I guarantee he gets himself sent off before the season is out thus buggering up our hopes of staying up.

Dunne is a defender people notice mistakes by them more..cos it can be crucial...lets face it most of this season with none defender ..a lb who is allways in the oppo half..2 slow cb..dunne has been sent of twice in 40 games..& for some moron hoping he gets sent of is stupid

I appreciate Woolford and Morisons goals, Shittus pereformances once Holloway arrived, Fordeys saves and spirit and Dunney at centre half but other than that the majority of them should be ashamed of themselves.....
NO ONE deserves the award this season!

Would have been funny if this had been mooted two weeks ago.
I do think though that the recent meeting between Ollie and the board has shed some light onto the squad for next season. That being IMO-
A limit on the number of 'has beens' coming in on loan at great expense as a quick fix exercise who are either not up to it or are permanently injured.
A new approach to keeping promising junior players and getting them on contracts as recently seen.
A scouting network that has some intelligence behind it, is competitive and fruitful and scours the lower divisions. One at least on trial at the moment so a step in the right direction.
A total clearout of dead wood. Those still under contract, yes I'm talking to you Hoyte, should be paid off or sent out on loan and sent to pastures new.
A new approach. The money we've wasted in the last two seasons on exorbitant salaries for players that really don't give a s*** is mind boggling.
If we stay up, and deal with the above, our budget will technically increase, so why not sign Wood permanently? He's a sub at Leicester and probably won't even get to that position next year in the Premiership. Food for thought.
Player of the year this season? Sorry, but there is one name missing-
    A.Supporter.

None of them. Best player is too strong an award. Most improved perhaps. Player most likely not to play as if he'd rather be elsewhere, player most likely to stay if we go down! But best player, I'm struggling. Dunne??? Really? At CB and as captain he has stepped up but can't really be best player of the season for hoofing it from centre back instaed of full back for the last few games.

Difficult to judge best player in one of the poorest seasons in many a year ! For me it's...
    1st: Malone
    RU: Woolford

However, my selection will be easily overwritten by the player that scores the goal that keeps us up !

Malone would be but in my opinion he's a bad defender. He's great going towards goals.

Woolford has been consistant all season. Back against Charlton (with Lomas in charge) you got the same performance as you see now with Holloway. I wasn't a fan when he first joined but looks like he could be a good player for us.

Not voting for him as player of the season (not enough games) but I'd like to give an honourable mention to young Fred Onyadinma. Done well in the games he's played and has actually given me some hope for the future.

Who has been mill walls best player this season is a close call between forde/ Malone/ dunne but I would say forde. Who is the best player mill wall have is a different question we have loads of top quality players who haven't been up to snuff this season and that is why we are we're we are. But I personally think the best player quality wise I have seen this season is Fred onyedinma he is really fast has shots first time no f****** abaut around the box which has p***** me off all season and has a good eye for passes. All I'm saying is next season watch this space.

Almost impossible to name the best player but the player I have been impressed with is Steve Morison. He had an injury early in the season but since coming back he has shown commitment, something that was at times lacking earlier in his career. If he had scored a few more goals he would have got my vote. If he gets the goal that keeps us up, he was denied by a brilliant save on Saturday, he is the one for me.

@MFC Lion: A light hearted comment but you're right of course. Problem is that a point for us and Doncaster on Saturday will still see us below them by a one goal differential. Assuming Blackpool lose at Wigan and Barnsley don't win at Boro that would see Barnsley relegated and Blackpool needing to beat Charlton on the final game, which is feasible. That would leave us having to beat Bournemouth due again to goal difference.
I always look forward to the new season but to be honest the end of this one can't come quickly enough.

Funny how no one on here really mentioned or spoke about Forde. Who voted for him in the official player of the year then?

You know it's a poor season when the goalie gets POTY at'wall.

Not saying he doesn't deserve it for his overall contribution to the cliub over the years and probably a bit of sentiment in there seeing as he will probably leave in the summer but based on this year???
