CHIEF executive Andy Ambler is hopeful Oldham winger Chris Taylor will put pen-to-paper with Millwall, despite stalling on a one-year deal.
NewsAtDen revealed last week that Taylor was on the verge of a move to The Den, having agreed personal terms on a 12-month deal.
But the 25-year-old postponed a meeting to finalise the move, scheduled for last Friday, to hold eleventh-hour discussions with another club.
Reports suggest Leicester City are showing a late interest in the midfielder.
However, Ambler told the South London Press that he is cautiously optimistic that the deal will still go through.
"Kenny has been tracking Chris for a long time. We hope to tie up details of the deal by the beginning of next week."
Millwall yesterday confirmed that "initial discussions" had been held with Taylor.
