Ref chief apologised to Millwall in wake of Brighton penalty

MILLWALL received a formal apology from the head of referees after Brighton's penalty shocker at The Den last month.

David Allison, who is in charge of all officials in the Football League, contacted the Lions to express his regret at Geoff Eltringham's decision.

Eltringham pointed to the spot when Seagulls loanee Jesse Lingard buckled under minimal contact from defender Danny Shittu, and David Lopez scored to decide the game.

Three days later, Eltringham took charge of a League Two fixture between Newport County and Fleetwood.

Allison, a former referee of 20 years, is the point of contact for all clubs wishing to make a complaint about a decision.

Chief executive Andy Ambler said: "Some decisions went our way against Blackburn last Saturday but we've had some bad ones this season and he did offer an apology on behalf of the officials for that penalty."

Apologies won't keep us up, its points we need.
Mind you the ref at the Blackburn game was our 12th man and we still couldn't win.

That makes me feel so much better now someone has apologised for something that shouldn't of happened in the first place!!!!
As unrealistic as it might sound, when we get relegated it's not by a point!!! ( although I think it will be much more)

How about replaying the game then? Of course that would never happen but that decision cost Millwall dear.

The penalty decision against brighton is the tip of the iceberg......We've been getting f**ked by 90% of refs from the very beginning of the season.... If they'd been the slightest bit more impartial in our matches, we would not be in the position we are in now.... that's a definite.
With that against us, along with groups of injuries and SUSPENSIONS...?.... we just haven't had the quality to fight it all off.
So well done to the F.A. - you've (ALMOST) succeeded in getting nasty little Millwall out of the championship.... Cheers - you corrupt C U N T S .
P.s. as negative as my last few posts have been - another way at looking at our current league spot is - if we somehow we get a win at forest on the wkend and Charlton lose - we find ourselves back in the same position as we were in on Saturday..... 2pts behind.... You never know...? Apply some pressure...? Charlton will be battling fatigue.... Who knows...? COYL.

Personally , I'd like an apology from all the players that have pulled our shirt on this season. The board have clearly bent over backwards , the players , have took us backwards.....to League One !

Did he also apologise for the fact that there is an agenda with referees to give us f*** all and cop a blind eye when other teams foul?
