MILLWALL received a formal apology from the head of referees after Brighton's penalty shocker at The Den last month.
David Allison, who is in charge of all officials in the Football League, contacted the Lions to express his regret at Geoff Eltringham's decision.
Eltringham pointed to the spot when Seagulls loanee Jesse Lingard buckled under minimal contact from defender Danny Shittu, and David Lopez scored to decide the game.
Three days later, Eltringham took charge of a League Two fixture between Newport County and Fleetwood.
Allison, a former referee of 20 years, is the point of contact for all clubs wishing to make a complaint about a decision.
Chief executive Andy Ambler said: "Some decisions went our way against Blackburn last Saturday but we've had some bad ones this season and he did offer an apology on behalf of the officials for that penalty."
