Morrison: Millwall would swap points for Charlton's games

CHARLTON defender Michael Morrison believes Millwall would swap their points total for the Addicks' four games in hand.

Morrison claims it is advantage Charlton in the battle to stay in the Championship after a 0-0 draw at The Den on Saturday.

The Valley club have extra fixtures to fulfil between now and the end of the season after a string of postponements due to the wet winter weather and their FA Cup run.

And Morrison said: "If you ask Millwall which position they’d rather be in, they'd rather be in our position.

"You would rather be relying on yourselves because if you don't achieve it then you have only let yourselves down, rather than hoping someone else makes mistakes.

"It was important that we didn't lose on Saturday because it keeps the gap between us and Millwall at three points.

"If we can win one of our games in hand, we can go above them on goal difference. I think a defeat would have made the six points look bigger.

"It's in our own hands and that's important. It’s up to us to make them count."

You still need to win though, the spotters look as likely to score as us.

@harry2310: I don't want the games in hand we tried that last season by the skin of our teeth we stayed up. It turned my hair grey

@munchy: I'm all for having the points in the bag and would feel more comfortable if we had one or two more. But with our horrendous goal difference they are only one win away from going above us.

FYI, Yeovil/Charlton and Barnsley all have the play each other, and Doncaster have a very tough run-in. All is not lost, even at this dire stage.

The main advantage is that we have four fewer awful games to watch/endure than Charlton fans. To be honest I wish we had none left and the season was over.

Sorry to be all mathematical but based on their 29pts from 32 games they 'should' expect another 3.625 points from their 4 games in hand.

So yes that would put Charlton above us.

However, as others have stated, f*** off Morrison you c***!

Think we'll both join Yeovil in going down to league one come what may - neither side deserves to stay up based on what I've seen recently - we were in the same boat last year and look what happened there!!

is this guy thick? since when would you rather have games in hand than points.
i just looked at their next four:

    Bournemouth (H)
    Burnley (H)
    Forest (A)
    Wigan (A)

can they get anything out of that i don't think so

@millwallgracie98: out of those 4 - tonight's game against Bournemouth will be their best chance- difficult to see em gettting anything from the other 3.
But WE need to win games - simple as that.
Hoping that another one of our local rivals f**ks up is a s**t situation to be in - we've got to earn our place in this league.
For f**ks sake - put that f**king ball in the net! - COYL!

@millwallgracie98: those are not their games in hand if they are playing them at the same time we are losing and running out of games! The games the play midweek when we do not are surely, is Leeds away a win for us then???

@JonnyBanks: Leeds are shipping goals at home and have lost their last 4 which has to give us confidence going up there and its about time we won up there don't you agree?

Whoever claims they would rather have a three point lead over 4 games in hand must be mental. We are sitting ducks with regards to CAFC and that's all our own doing. Time to focus on the likes of Doncaster and Birmingham, we had plenty of chances to pressure Charlton and we passed it up!!!
