NICKY Bailey is set to be sidelined for at least five more weeks after a back injury proved more serious than first thought.
The midfielder has not appeared in a Lions shirt since the 1-1 home draw with Sheffield Wednesday last month after being asked to improve his fitness.
But the 29-year-old overexerted himself in training and physio Bobby Bacic has confirmed that Bailey is now unlikely to return to action until April at the earliest.
Bacic told the club's official site: "The problem area is small but extremely painful which is frustrating for Nicky.
"We are limiting his activities to swimming only at present as we do not want to stir the back up and potentially cause a long term problem.
"The time frame given by the surgeon is to allow healing to occur over the next month, so regrettably Nicky will not be available for the fixtures in March."
