Preview: Millwall vs. Bolton

ED Upson returns to the Millwall squad for Saturday's home game with Bolton.

The midfielder sat out the 1-1 draw with former club Yeovil in midweek after Lions boss Ian Holloway observed a gentlemen's agreement with opposite number Gary Johnson.

Upson is expected to go straight into Holloway's starting line up to face Wanderers, with Richard Chaplow sidelined by a calf problem.

Mark Beevers (calf), Nicky Bailey (back) and Shane Lowry (suspended) are all unavailable.

Bolton will be without forwards Andre Moritz and Jermaine Beckford (both hamstring), whilst Millwall loanee Liam Trotter is not eligible to face his parent club.

Manager Dougie Freedman is also missing Marc Tierney, Joe Riley and Stuart Holden.

David Wheater made his return from a long-term knee injury in the 1-0 defeat to Burnley on Tuesday and is set to retain his place in the team.

What about Bailey? He was out with his back in a earlier report, is he now fit? Massive boast if he is.

IH knows what he wants to do and his best formation but I would really like to see some balance in the old tried and tested 442 which saw us right in our 13 game unbeaten run last season with two quality strikers then in Henderson/Woods but we now have plenty of quality forward options for a partnership.
    Forde
    Fredericks Shittu Robinson Malone
    Jackson Williams Upson Woolford
    McDonald Morison
I would love to see the fruition of the M&M partnership when they are given the right deliveries in the box by the overlapping fullbacks and attacking wide players and also through the center with playmakers Williams/Upson. The only other two players I would have for the center midfield partnership is Bailey/Chaplow when (if ever) match fit again.

Not gun-ho enough for me. Think we should play 'Rush Goalie' allowing Forde to push up as a 3rd Striker !!!!
      'Rush Goalie'
      Fredericks - Shittu - Robinson - Malone
      Jackson - Williams - Upson - Woolford
      McDonald - Morison - Forde

      Come on you lions...........

Yes, Don't hear of that now( Rush Goalie ) but in fact any goalie can go up front if he wishes to. You sometimes see it done in the last minute of Cup games, when teams are losing.

Really important to get the win tomorrow - to boost our confidence and to keep some distance between us and the three below. Plus it would also really drag Bolton down into trouble. I reckon 2-0.

@Jim28: Some harsh words have been used against Trotter, which are unjustifiable. When he was scoring and playing well for Millwall he was being praised. He's a decent guy and imo should not have moved there he may come to regret it.
If we cannot beat Bolton tomorrow then unless a miracle occurs we are looking at relegation.

I would love us to take a lead and not give it away as we normally do. Think Millwall will edge it tomorrow.

Charlton are red Millwall are blue win today is what we must do, so come on crowd get behind our team and tear these shower from seam to seam, new manager in Olly who's really off his trolley has started to get them to fight, so play like a team and make us beam, and I'm sure we will be alright, and stay in this league like we should, so stand up strong at the Den today and wear that shirt with pride, go forth and win this game from the drop we cannot hide, so come now forwards bulge that net as relegation is more than a fret , so nick a good win and have some I'm sure well go on a run.
