Southampton linked with move for Millwall midfielder Trotter

SOUTHAMPTON are being linked with a £1.5million-move for Millwall midfielder Liam Trotter.

The Daily Mail claims the Premier League newboys are leading the chase for the 22-year-old, who is due to hold contract talks with the Lions this summer.

Saints boss Nigel Adkins is known to be a long-term admirer of Trotter and has funds to spend valtrex following his side's promotion to the top flight.

But Millwall's valuation of Trotter is thought to be significantly higher than the figure being quoted, and so it is likely any opening bid would be knocked back.

Trotter scored seven goals in 40 appearances for the Lions last season.

I hope we make it as difficult for southampton to sign trotter as they did for us to sign Puncheon. Lets just hope puncheon doesn't come the other way. He looks too much like another player with the wrong attitude.

I don't think we need Puncheon's attitude round the club. A move to the Premiwer League would be good for Liam but we should ask at least £4m for him. That sort of money would sort out the losses for a year and leave Kenny with a good pot of cash to buy in a decent striker. How about offering Tottenham a wedge for Kane?

no way would we get £4 million for him, he's a good centre mid, but not worth anywhere near that. £2 million would be a very good deal, and maybe have Southampton give us Barnard or Connolly in exchange

It would be a big loss to our squad if Trotter were to leave. With Wright signing and Racon hopefully to come back, we're looking pretty strong in that position now. But, if this rumour did turn out to be true (it is in the Mail after all), it would be unrealistic to expect Trotter to turn down a Premier League club. We just have to make sure we get enough to replace him and possibly to strengthen elsewhere.

Irrespective of whether Trotter leaves, I'd love us to get Matt Ritchie from Swindon. We're crying out for a creative, hard-working left winger, and he fits the bill.
