Easter eyes Watford win to ease pressure on Millwall boss

JERMAINE Easter insists it is the responsibility of Millwall's players to ease the pressure on boss Steve Lomas with a win at Watford on Boxing Day.

The Lions' trip to Vicarage Road on Thursday is the first of three games in seven days and results over the Christmas period could determine Lomas' fate at the club.

Millwall were booed off at half time and full time during their 2-0 defeat by Middlesbrough on Saturday, with chief executive Andy Ambler branding the performance "unacceptable."

Easter, who has been tipped to start up front against the Hornets, said:  "It was a stale performance against Middlesbrough – there didn't seem to be a lot of hunger.

"I can't put my finger on why that was because we've done well of late at home.

"But we can't dwell on the past. The fans had their say, they're disappointed and all we want to do is please them and everyone else at the club.

"The fans' chants told us everything you need to know – they are not happy. The players aren't happy either because we're not winning games as regularly as we'd like.

"There needs to be a big improvement in performances and it is our responsibility to ease the pressure on the manager by taking three points at Watford.

"Our away form hasn't been good enough and that has got to change if we want to move away from the relegation places.

"Actions speak louder than words so we have to back that up on the pitch."

Can't really blame Easter not getting a run in the team but when he does get on has proved he wants a starting place and now is the time to let him prove himself as a starter and not a 15 minute impact player as he's being used as

Agree with JE to a certain extent that' it's down to the players, but at the end of the day the buck stops with the manager to pick the correct team and get tactics right which he certainly didn't do against boro!
Not interested at all that SL played for the spammers, but this job at millwall is just not for him, should never of been given it and should of stayed in Scotland managing that team that is only famous cos it's the only team in England or Scotland with a J in it !!!
If the premier league in Scotland was any good why hasn't SL bought any players down south?

We will get smashed at Watford, part of me wants to loose and say good bye to Lomas, he's had long enough to get this team ticking, can't believe what I see last week, mugged every one of us off on TV, do etching has to change, crowds getting smaller and smaller.

Easter don't back him... You will do the business if he had the decency to start you on the basis of your hard work alone. Macdonald would also work well with a decent passing midfield....

Everyone so far hit nail on head is Lomas making the player do this?? Haha
