Preview: Millwall vs. Middlesbrough

JOSH Wright has been named in the Millwall squad to face Middlesbrough after being recalled from his loan spell at Leyton Orient.

Lions boss Steve Lomas has also included youngsters Fred Onyedinma and Alfie Pavey in his preliminary pool of 21 players for the match.

Lomas is without four senior pros – Richard Chaplow (groin), Lee Martin (hamstring), Nicky Bailey (knee) and Justin Hoyte (ineligible) – and also must call up a replacement for Martyn Waghorn, whose loan spell at the club has come to an end.

Alan Dunne is expected to start at right back despite being stretchered off with a nasty flesh wound against Blackburn Rovers last weekend.

Scott McDonald and Jermaine Easter are competing to fill Waghorn's place in the side.

Meanwhile, Lomas has hinted at making changes to his defence and both Danny Shittu and Shane Lowry are in his squad for tomorrow's game, which is live on TV.

For Boro, Jonathan Woodgate is a doubt with a muscle strain, Jason Steele (ankle) and Kei Kamara (knee) are out but Marvin Emnes could return after a hamstring niggle.

Love the sound of the kids being included. Would like to see them on the bench, but don't really think the management will.

@colin66: Colin he never once mention the leaking defence, and the big players in the dressing room he mention are part of his coaching staff and no longer players, as already stated very interesting they way he is thinking (not talking about the players).

Wright is a player that I still think can raise his game to Championship level, I know that I might be the only person that thinks that though.

Not quite - there's you, me and the bloke who compiles the database for Football Manager 14.
Then again he apparently also reckons Keogh is a goal machine. Go figure.

@glyngo: he looks like one of the more comfortable on the ball players we have and can pass well. We have worse players IMO.

'Jonathon Woodgate is a doubt', now there's a classy centre half. Somebody just like him, only less brittle, would do nicely Mr Lomas.
Really looking forward to seeing the game for once tomorrow and to see what progress, if any, we've made under Lomas for myself.
Like the 5 quid idea, although from what I've heard even that's steep for some of the performances this season.

Forde will be gone in 4 weeks so he's not going to be named captain. Lowry isn't going to be playing centre half tomorrow, despite the fact that 99% of us want him there-Not in front of the TV cameras he's not. Lomas can't lose this game, so finally, given the players available, we'll see what he perceives to be his strongest team given the injuries.

Ultimately, It's 3 points we must get because by the time we kick-off we'll be in the shitenhousen.

well i'm not one of the 99% that wants lowrey at centre back , i don't even want lowrey in the side, he's crude, clumsey, unreliable, slow and worse at heading a ball than the crap we'v got there. if nicola is right and 99% of you want him, then i just don't know what you all see in him that i don't

Gordon Bennett the same defence! None of the youngsters and Easter on the bench.

Millwall: Forde, Dunne, Malone, Abdou, Robinson, Beevers, Trotter, Feeney, McDonald, Morison, Woolford. Subs: Bywater, Smith, Easter, Shittu, Keogh, Lowry, Moussi.

CRAP! The worst home performance from a Millwall team I have seen for years. No game plan, a useless defence not one of them worth a light. Just big boots upfield, whereas Mborough kept the ball on the ground and worked their socks off. There was no one to pass to, they kept giving the ball away, a total and utter disgrace. I was prepared to give Lomas the benfeit of the doubt but not after this shambles. Unless he goes we will be relegated. I refrain from mentioning any player because they were all bad. I do not think Lomas has a clue what to do, He is out of his depth. Please go.
