STEVE Lomas views Millwall's match with Middlesbrough at The Den on Saturday as a chance to pull away from the Teessiders in the Championship table.
The Lions could move seven points clear of the relegation zone this weekend if they win and other results go their way.
Victory over Boro would have the added bonus of keeping Aitor Karanka's troops, currently sitting just one place below Millwall in the Championship table, at arm's length.
"Boro are around us in the table and we haven't picked up enough points against those sides – we've done better against the top teams," Lomas said.
"That is something we need to improve and it is a chance for us to put daylight between us and them.
"They have been a bit unfortunate recently, conceding goals late on in games and that has cost them points, but we know that, on their day, they are a quality side.
"We are at home and we have got bounce back. The performance at Blackburn was decent enough to get us something out of it, which was disappointing. It was points thrown away.
"The game is live on TV so we want to put on a good performance for our fans at the game and those watching at home."
