LEE Martin has suffered a fresh injury setback that is expected to keep him out of action for the next two weeks.

Manager Steve Lomas confirmed after his side's 2-1 victory over Wigan that Martin is set to spend a fortnight on the sidelines with a hamstring strain.

Martin has struggled for fitness since moving to The Den in the summer and has already overcome knee and hip injuries in the first half of the season.

In total, the 26-year-old has made 12 appearances for Millwall.

Seems the lad is prone to injury, a shame, good thing we have Feeney back who is more than capable as a winger. Hope Lee gets back to fitness soon.

You see this is why impulse buying never has a happy ending. Top purchase Steve.

@manclion: Who says it was a impulse buy ? and on a free, one year contract with probably failry low wages is not a massive gamble. But hey, lets not miss a excuse to have another pop at the manager

Its a shame he is so injury prone, bags of potential and a little bit of class which apart from Trotter and McDonald is so lacking in our squad. Although, coincidentally I saw him at Polhill Garden Centre yesterday whilst getting my Christmas Tree (As you do) and he wasn't hobbling about? When i done my hamstring i could hardly walk for a week let along go shopping.

Has the remainder of the season once he returns from latest injury to prove he's not a constant sick note.

No chance of a new contract however much potential he has, should offer a pay as you play deal.

@MFC Lion: Completely agree... think there should be more of those pay as you play deals around for those who are contantly injured! If I can't work through injury I don't get paid....

years ago at the old den the players would run out 5/10 mins before kick off ,kick the ball around to eachother while the captains spun up,and away we'd go, same all over the country, same ol players week in week out, they never seemed to be injured. now 45 min warm up's doing this and that, in out shake it all about, now they'r never fit. one player actually told me he's f****d before the game starts

Before the 5 minute warm up quite a few players would be in the Five Bells and other locals having a couple of pints, a few cigarettes and a pie. Walk round to the ground and put a shift in. Back to the pub afterwards for a few more pints. Now they drive in from their Macmansions, get pasta and high energy drinks.

@bordersarebest0170: After wacthing the fittness coach with the players at half time, it looked like several of them were harking back to those days as over half of them did not take part in the pantomine that was frankly making the players look stupied, and him well I will leave that to you.

In his time with Ipswich he played 120 games including 20 on loan at Charlton. Hardly suggests he's a fragile sick note does it? You lot getting your knickers in a twist as always. Good signing, quality player shame he don't have a decent manager.

@absolutewanker: Erm.... his time with Ipswich has ended so its irrelevant but he's been with us all season and only been fit for a handful of games - weather that be the fault of the coaching staff, manager or the lad himself fact is he's not earning his wage sitting in the physio's room! which is where he has been more than half the time we've had him on our books!

    Another non playing injury.

Could it be that our fitness coach hasn't got a clue what muscles to warm up prior to running?

After All it don't look like he has had any personal experience of training for some time.

Indeed he has. He had him on the CEMENT diet. Couldn't find anything on the internet pertaining to this but my understanding is that it's eat and drink all you can during the close season without urinating, because there is a new contract to be taken the p*** out of.

Hamstrings can go at any time, ask Steve Gerrard at the weekend. Shame as I think he gives us something extra, but s*** happens. Ask the vermin about Carroll and see what answers you get!!!!

Another mediocre player. Feeney is twice the player he is. He can get to the line and put a cross in. Martin just plays the ball back because he can't beat a player. Get rid at the end of the season.

Wont lose any sleep over this one
The bloke is toilet offers little or nothing at all
Hasnt exactly set the world alite and has done nothing to earn a decent contract, he was probably brought in to make up the numbers.
I hope he reads the posts and decides to pull his finger out and proves some of us wrong........Na i dont think so either.

        Yeah massive lion. Lol
I just cant see the point of having a player like that unless he's a left mid being played out of position on the right
From what i've seen thats about as generous as i can be for the fella.
Whats your take on it lion ?

@lukesmithmfc: Being 400 miles away mate, as the crow flies, I can't have an honest opinion as I've hardly seen him. All I'll say is injury prone wingers is not a new phenomenon, reading Sir Tom Finney's autobiography at the minute and he never played a full season, same for Sir Stanley Matthews. Matthews played until he was 50 and Finney made his debut in the European Cup aged 41 so hardly what you'd call sick notes! (-:~
