Feeney: Millwall owe fans good performance against Forest

LIAM Feeney says Millwall must make amends for their defeat to Leicester City with a much-improved display against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

The Lions put up little resistance as they were beaten 3-0 at the King Power Stadium at the weekend but can redeem themselves with a win over Forest under the lights at The Den.

"Tuesday is a chance for us to right the wrongs," Feeney said. "We're at home and we owe it to ourselves, the club and the fans to put on a performance that gets us a win."

639 Millwall fans travelled to the Midlands on Saturday to watch their side be put to the sword by the table-topping Foxes, who had 30 efforts on goal – one every three minutes.

"That doesn't make good reading for anyone," Feeney added. "30 shots is very unusual and it goes to show how wrong we got it. We gifted them a lot of shots and three poor goals.

"It's hard to pinpoint individuals or individual units. We go out there as a team and often it's a string of errors all over the field that lead to goals going in.

"They were bad mistakes for the goals, the timings of the goals were bad – it just all went wrong. We shouldn't be conceding the second goal five seconds after our own set piece.

"We had a couple of warnings in the first half when they broke on us, so we spoke about it at half time but they then scored on their first counter attack. That was a killer for us.

"Leicester played really well on the day and they are top of the league for a reason, but we did them a lot of favours and didn't do ourselves justice.

"That's a big disappointment. It's hard to take any positives when the game goes like that."

Can we please hear from the Team coach driver for his insights as he's the only one who hasn't contributed so far.

After that Rubbish at Leicester, Its about time everybody realised that DANNY SHITTU must be brought back into the rear - guard.............................
"NO- GOOD" promising we will do this and that, we want results NOW....before its all too late.
TOO MANY people seem to think especially on here that SHITTU is not up to it, Believe me !!!!

I am getting fed - up of listening to the Rubbish that Steve Lomas comes out with, and lots of
      people actually believing it all.......................
LOMAS GET OUT !!! [ If we don't take six points tue & sat ]

@bermlion: If we're reliant on Shittu to shore things up then we'd all better find something else to do. Overweight, defensively inept, and still living on 'That's what we do' infamy. What he needs to 'do' is become a matchday host and have a stroll around the stadium cos that's what he historically does when playing.. He'd be the first out the double garage doors if I'm ever fortunate enough to be offered the Millwall job.

The way the players and Lomas are talking, you would think we've had a couple of bad games this season and bounced back from them. We've been f****** atrocious for most of the season. We've needed to bounce back more times than f****** Zeberdee. I bet Billy Davies knows how to bounce back after their home defeat to Reading, and then we've got Wigan out to impress their new manager. See you all soon on The Magic Roundabout.

Someone posted a 'Get Chaplow back into the team' on here recently and got a lot of thumbs up.
    It worked.
So, to see if any of the board members actually read this, and to see how many thumbs up it gets between now and Tomorrow night my statement is
'Get a new manager - NOW'

@Longfield Lion: I don't like anyone losing their job, I really don't, whether it's in the 'real' world or in football. Football managers are unquestionably disposable items and history has taught us that. They know the risks but get the salary. If it goes wrong then they are at least financially secure, unlike the rest of us 'mere mortals'.
Having said that, Lomas is not unemployable, as when Berylson gets the guts to fire him, he will beaver his way back to Scotland and no doubt will do well. In the Championship, he is completely out of his depth. It pains me to say that because I was blowing his trumpet, more than anyone when he was appointed. But, I know when the game's up and trust me, it isn't going to get any better. I'm very sure we won't win tomorrow night, but in the unlikely event that we do, it will only be a temporary elation. A look at the table tells its own story-It's time for a new manager otherwise we'll be adrift before Christmas and relegated by March.

More b***** coming from a player who probably can't wait until the Jan transfer window.
"We're at home and we owe it to ourselves, the club and the fans to put on a performance that gets us a win."
No s*** Sherlock. You and your team mates owe us fans big time. Let's just have a quick recap on some of your performances and results when we've conceded 3 or more goals:

    Lost 3 - 0 to Ipswich away
Lost 5 -1 to Derby at home
    Lost 4 - 0 to Birmingham away
    Lost 5 - 2 to Bournemouth away
    Lost 3 - 1 to Bolton away
    Lost 3 - 0 to Leicester away.

6 f***!ng games we've lost by 3 or more goals AND we're not even half way through the season yet.
Buy yourself and dictionary and look up the word PASSION and COMMITMENT.

How much longer? IMO 3 good managers became available this weekend - all doing better jobs than this clown. Personally - i wouldn't mind Coyle - we always do well with Scottish Managers - and crap with Northern Irish ones!

"Tuesday is a chance for us to right the wrongs," Feeney said. Does he know then that Lomarse will be scouting up north and the players will be able to play the way they know they should and not to SL's instructions of playing 5-5-0 the new system for hanging in there for a point. Foreign coaches are looking at this new system with interest, but I hope it doesn't catch on. 3 managers for this division went this weekend, so the players will have to put things right soon or Lomarse will be number 4.

Don't think your bothered about millwall or the fans as all your doing is getting match fit for when you move to Bolton in January ! Reckon you and all the other players with the exception of David Forde should pay the entrance fees of the 600 odd who went to Leicester! 30 goal attempts against unheard of in modern day football !! Pathetic

Yet another player saying we let the fans down - From on high they are letting us down - JB employs all and sundry, HE needs to get in there and sort out the mess hes creating bit by bit - I see we need a massive miracle from here on in - I dont have a magic wand I wish I did - all the penny pinching people would be out, only commited people in, would be my ethos

I know he was probably interviewed and asked the stupid question, but I can't believe this little p**** comes out with this s***. He wouldn't know commitment if it slapped him in the face. And if they talked about Liecester being dangerous on the break at half time, they all obviously don't listen, or want to listen to what they are told to do. For that, SL is to blame, if he doesn't have the dressing room, so I would now say get him out and get Holloway in. I did say that a couple of weeks ago and got a bit of flack. heyho.

I haven't been Millwall in a long time simply because I cannot afford the watch this s*** week in week out, I don't expect us to win every game but I do expect to watch my team give 100%. As I said I ain't been too much this season so I can't say who's playing good and who's not but.. We wasn't conceding too many goals last season with Shittu and Beevers playing together, does is Robinson all that and does he make a significant difference???

Goals against clearly shows we were missmatched and our tactics were fundamentally flawed for the squad we had available. Lets get back to basics, drop Hoyte and bring in Dunne. Keep Robbo and Beevers and Malone hangs onto his place by a whisker, after the last couple of glaring errors he has made, one of which led to a goal. Midfield of Bailey, Abdou, Moussi and Waghorn and Feeney on the wings. Morison and Easter up front, 4-4-2 formation. It is attack minded and will at least give us something to get behind.

We need all of our players to work hard, unfortunately our defence is s**t and Lomas needs to bring in some decent players, a right footed Beevers would be good, Malone is good enough but the rest including Robo are 1st division standard and that is being generous!!!!!!!!
