Preview: Millwall vs. Barnsley

SCOTT Malone is back in training after a knee injury and comes into contention for Millwall's crunch-clash against Barnsley on Saturday.

The left back has returned from bone bruising ahead of schedule and the Lions will make a late decision on whether he is fit to play.

But Steve Lomas' preparations have been disrupted by a groin injury to midfielder Liam Trotter, who looks set to miss out.

And striker Scott McDonald remains a doubt with a hamstring strain.

Jermaine Easter will be hoping to continue up front after marking both of his last two appearances with a goal, but Steve Morison has been tipped to start.

Loan signing Guy Moussi and fit-again Richard Chaplow are the obvious candidates to replace Trotter, although Lomas could switch to a 4-4-2 formation and play an extra striker.

Mark Beevers is over a knee injury and expected to play for the first time since the 1-0 win over Charlton in September.

Barnsley midfielder Jacob Mellis is fit again after an ankle problem, but Peter Ramage is likely to miss out with a thigh strain.

First-choice goalkeeper Luke Steele (back) remains sidelined, so Stoke loanee Jack Butland will retain his place between the sticks.

@Dazi:Looks like it and I don't think he's going to risk Malone either. Morison is due a start so I expect this line-up-
      Forde
      Hoyte Beevers Robinson Lowry
      Moussi Bailey Chaplow Woolford
      Morison Waghorn
      I

@NICKOLA: Its a shame but to be honest that is still a decent team that should be smashing the likes of Barnsley, so I'm feeling pretty confident about tomorrow

Yet another Groin strain injury to one of the better players this time, how many is that this year alone? what on earth are they doing in training? Sure aint muscle/ligament strenghting exercises.
Dropping out like flies and slow to recover too.
Lets hope no one else drops out after Saturday

Lomas has got to show the fans wot they want at home playing 442 and going for a win. Keep the other system for away games. Morison & waghorn up front.

Groin injuries are common in cold weather but ought to be avoided if warm-ups are done properly. It is yet another blow to lose our best player ahead of this important game! Is there a hex on Millwall?
It is a good thing that Moussi has signed and I am confident we will get 3 points tomorrow!

4-4-2. Get at them from the first whistle. Stand up and be counted time. Desperately in need of this win. Dont bear thinking about the doom that would follow if we lost so therefore I am only concentrating on a thumping win where Morison finally gets going. COYL.
P.S. I hope the 12th man turns up as well as the first 11.

I THINK THE SCORE WILL BE MILLWALL 2 - BARNSLEY 0.....................
[ EVEN THOUGH WE SEEM TO GO 1 - 0 BEHING LATELY, ON EACH GAME ]
BOTH GOALS WILL BE SCORED AT THE CBL END OF THE GROUND..............
SO FROM WHERE WE SIT IN THE BARRY KITCHENER UPPER [ B LOCK - 4 ] ,
WE WILL HAVE A GREAT VIEW OF THE GOALS !!!!

On a serious but off topic note..... Where is Old Les? I know he is often opinionated, rather annoying, consistently cantankerous and has a god given knack to rub the masses up the wrong way..... But I miss him!!!

I am considering calling all the Residential homes in the SE area and possibly all known stockists of Werther's Originals to track him down to make sure the old boy is in good health??? Any information will greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Could've done without Doncaster winning tonight. If Sheffield Wednesday win at lunchtime we could be in the bottom three by kick-off. Just thought I'd cheer everyone up before the big match.

We should have enough in reserve to not need to risk rushing Malone back. Give Chaplow a start, deserves a chance.

Really expect us to get a win tomorrow and if we must concede a goal can it at least be due to a great attacking move or moment of brilliance rather than the p*** poor goals we keep giving away?

At very least get a draw so we stay above Barnsley!

bout time he listened 4-4-2 definitely the way to go at home and away sometimes it's become pretty clear the 4-3-3 attack 4-5-1 defend scenario isn't working for us , it works for a lot of teams but not us judging on recent results and performances . but this injury lark is a f****** joke , this never happened before WHY? is it happening now something ain't right you can't tell me that's all bad luck . c'mon i didn't come down with yesterdays rain .
