Millwall to wear white against Barnsley in support of charity

MILLWALL will wear their away kit in Saturday's home fixture against Barnsley as part of 'Heroes in White' day in support of Prostate Cancer UK.

The Lions have received special dispensation from the Football League to play in their white strip and will be raising both awareness and money for the charity on the day.

Fans can buy special t-shirts commemorating the event and £5 from the sale of all away kits during the month of November will also go to good causes.

Several first-team players have been growing moustaches for Movember and the money they raise will be going to men's health charities.

A special edition of the matchday programme, which includes interviews with director Trevor Keyse and fan Brian Kilgannon, who both battled prostate cancer, will also be on sale.

Ah, the good old days of playing in white & watching the likes of Kitch, 'arryboy, Possee, Bridges, Merlin, Alfie Wood, Dougie Allder, Bolland , Dunphy , Dorney, Kingy, etc. Wish we could fill this current side with half of those players. Sorry, not relevant and I'm guilty of wishful thinking & daydreaming again. Roll on Saturday and 3 points.

@Bolland: Ah the memories, but don't miss out Weller, my favourite player of all time, closely followed by Teddy.

I know what you mean about Weller & Teddy but neither were in the side that played in white in & around that season when we finished 3rd & Possee got the goal of the season award against brum on The Big Match . Yes, Weller was brilliant & Teddy magnificent during his many years with us.

Does anyone care what colour we are in?

    I don't, albeit for a good cause.

The main thing is eleven players wear that shirt with pride and play with it too.
