Berylson: Millwall have been rewarded for backing Jackett

CHAIRMAN John Berylson believes Millwall have been rewarded for keeping faith with manager Kenny Jackett.

The Lions ended their season yesterday with a 2-2 draw against Blackpool at The Den, a result which saw them finish 16th in the Championship table and 17 points above the relegation zone.

And Berylson says maintaining stability was the key to achieving that outcome.

"Looking back now, I think last year we spent too much time worrying about replacing one player rather than focusing on the team as a whole," he told the club's official matchday programme, referring to the departure of Steve Morison.

"However, when things didn’t go to plan we didn’t follow most of the clubs around us and sack our manager.

"We knew that in the long run quality will always make the difference, and in Kenny we knew we had a very good manager who was the best person to steer us out of troubled waters."
