Former Leeds and Derby right back training with Millwall

MILLWALL could turn to free agent Paul Connolly to solve a short-term crisis at right back ahead of Saturday's match against Derby County at The Den.
The Lions will definitely be without Alan Dunne, who is suspended following his red card against Brighton, whilst Jack Smith is a doubt after picking up a knock in training.
Connolly, who was released by Leeds United in June, is training with Steve Lomas' squad and will play in a behind-closed-doors friendly this week in a bid to prove his fitness.
If he impresses, and Smith fails to recover in time, the 29-year-old may be offered a short-term deal so that he can fill in against the Rams, another of his former clubs.
Doesn't karleigh play right back?
@deano22: Yep! and he's much quicker than Smith and Dunney - not sure his play going forward is going to be enough though! Definitely worth a punt there as cover though!
@deano22: Did you see him there last season, shocking?!
Never mind a right back, what about a striker? I see we are being linked wit Leicester's Martyn Waghorn - be a nice chance to sign a player from them!!!!
@Lonz: like DNG ?
Not a bad stop gap & he may have a point to prove against derby . As for Waghorn bring it on .
C O Y L !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our priority is surely to ship a few OUT on Loan .
@Longfield Lion: if no other club wants them what can lomas do im afraid we are lumbered with them
The wishlist for players is all very well - bottom line is we have NO money!!!
@TheBermondseyBomber: totally agree hence my question about Karleigh quick agile and a point to prove why waste money on bringing in someone who won't improve us.
Granted he's an unknown quantity going forward but surely that's something Henry and the rest of midfield should be doing anyway.
I don't really care if he doesn't go north of the half way line tbh as long as we keep a clean sheet the midfield and striker(s) can start scoring
What's wrong with Osborne at RB? About time he earned his money.
@Peckhamlad: if it was thought he [osborne] was good enough surely he would be given his chance.perhaps these fringe players are not showing the right attitude in training.woolford has taken his chance so perhaps other fringe players should get into sl face by showing the right attitude and leaving sl no choice but to give them their chance,after all in backing woolford sl has shown he is prepared to give fringe players their chance.
John Guidetta, Manchester City - available for loan, scored 20 in 23 games on loan at Feyenord last season. Season long loan, problem solved This football management lark is so easy!!! Seriously though, he's the sort of player we should be aiming for.
@Lonz: Will go to a prem club or abroad again - no chance for us you're in dreamland.
Stating the bleeding obvious- There aren't going to be any major ins until Lomas and co. have managed to get a few out on loan. I would expect that is where the effort is going over the next few days.
There are a lot of quality players up for grabs that haven't made the 25 man squads, whether we can get any of them-assuming they want to come- is dependent of having a clearout.
@Lonz:
@Lonz: Lonz we have four strikers already vying for one spot
F*** me, our lot are dropping like flies! Whats going on at the training ground? Maybe we should drop the tatics training for a day or so and work on some strength and fitness training. We can't afford anymore injuries! We are down to bare bones as it is. Its a problem when we are trying to get someone in for cover for Jack Smith! Ha! Unbelievable!
My person starting 11 against Derby:
GK-Fordey
RB-Osbourne
CB-Robbo (hopefully)
CB-Beevers
LB-Malone/Lowry
CM-Trotter/Chaplow
CM-Bailey
CM-Derry
RW-Henry/Feeney
ST-McDonald
LW-Woolford/Martin
@MillwallLad123:
I wouldn't play a centre back at right back. Osbourne is too slow to adapt in that position. I've seen milk turn quicker ! How about good old jimmy Abdou at right back as cover ?
don't know why people want strikers ? ffs we got morro,mcdonald,keogh,easter and marquis if they can't summon a few goals between em then there is something f****** wrong plus we got goals in chaplow, trotter,woolford and bailey im sure we don't need to waste anymore f****** money on something we don't need especially when it's looking like we will be playing one up front for some games to we need a rb and possibly a lb to. Im not sure on this bloke don't know a great deal about him is he any good ?
@steveomfc5: he is without a club does that answer your question.
@jim1222: lol that says it all yeah money saver hahaha
nearly all the goals scored against us have been because of our defenders basic mistakes,failure to close opposition players down just out side the box,failing to to compete fpr headers inside the box,own goals although i think both lowrey and beavers were a bit unfortunate,we seem to be getting these problems sorted but imo we do need a left back and a right back before we need any more forwards.
In other news: I'm loving the picture used by the BBC when talking about DNG:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23927882
@SE12Lion: SE12 priceless, you can see he looks like a real footballer in that picture. top spot.
@Barnlion: I'm gonna miss those gloves...
@SE12Lion: SE12 But not him thou
looking away from the ball no wonder his first touch was rubbish,or has he missed the ball [again] either way he will not be missed,on one issue alone the palarse game.no matter what he thought of jacket he and any pro footballer should at the end of the day be playing for the fans.
Would anyone agree or disagree that Jimmy Abdou could do a short term job at right back ? I'd give him a go if needs must personally.
Derry is supposed to be able to play there. Move him back and bring Trotter in with Chaplow.
