FULHAM will not be following up their interest in Millwall star Liam Trotter, NewsAtDen has learnt.
Barry Simmonds, chief scout at the Premier League club, has decided against making a recommendation to manager Martin Jol having watched the Lions midfielder regularly over the past three months.
The Cottagers had previously been the only top-flight side to show a genuine long-term interest in Trotter, who now seems increasingly unlikely to leave The Den during the current January transfer window.
The former Ipswich playmaker has been involved in on-off contract talks with Millwall since August last year. Negotiations were put on hold after the two parties failed to come to a quick agreement, only to be resurrected in late December.
While Trotter is under contract until 2014, boss Kenny Jackett is keen to bring one of his brightest prospects in line with the club's other top earners.
