MILLWALL'S hopes of signing striker Kyle Lafferty this summer are fading after Italian outfit Palermo declared an interest in the 25-year-old.
Lions boss Steve Lomas confirmed he was keen on landing the former Rangers star, who is being allowed to leave Swiss side FC Sion on the cheap, but he appears destined for Serie B.
Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini said on Friday that, "after a year of following him, I can finally take Lafferty to Palermo from Switzerland."
Speaking earlier in the week, sporting director Nicola Amoruso added: "Lafferty is one of our major targets in the summer and someone we are following after advice and direction from [manager Rino] Gattuso. Despite his height and physical presence, he is a player with speed over the ground and technical ability."
