MILLWALL defender Tamika Mkandawire has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
Mkandawire, who underwent knee surgery in November, had been nearing a return to fitness but was forced to go under the knife for a second time earlier this week.
Lions physio Bobby Bacic told the club's official website: "Tam underwent a very small second procedure this week to remove the internal stitches in his knee.
"In some cases the stitches are left in the knee and this was the original plan with him. However, the surgeon decided to remove them once the original injury had healed, as the stitches were irritating the joint causing intermittant swelling to appear in the knee.
"This means that although Tam may re-join training before the end of the month, he will not be match ready this season."
