Millwall winger has been playing through groin problem

CHRIS Taylor has revealed he has been carrying an injury in recent weeks after being forced off against Watford in midweek.

Taylor, who lasted just 36 minutes before being substituted, is due to undergo a scan on Thursday on what he believes is an underlying groin problem that has become aggravated.

"I am hoping it is not too serious," he told NewsAtDen. "I have been playing with it for a few weeks now – me and the physio have been aware of it.

"I might have pushed it too far and strained it. It's a bit sore at the moment."

Taylor was thrilled to see the Lions finish the job against the Hornets without him – and particularly pleased for goalscorer Shaun Batt, who is set to be offered a new contract.

"It is great for Shaun to have got the goal," Taylor said. "He works the hardest out of anyone and if anyone deserved a goal, I think he did.

"He gives his all every game and is a very likeable lad. For himself and the club it was an absolutely massive goal and I couldn't be more pleased. Everyone is delighted for him."

Groin strains can take a long time to get complely better. I done my groin 6 months ago and it still gives me grief if i sprint up the steps off the underground. He needfs some time out but i suppose that means playing feeney on the left for a while. What happened to the other fella from bournmouth? he looked hungry at least.

Not a nice one to have couple people I know said its one of the most restricting and uncomfortable injuries they've had, might explain his bad touch the last couple games. Still puts a decent shift in though. Lets hope we don't lose him for a couple months again.
