Easter: Millwall will need 59 points to be certain of safety

JERMAINE Easter believes Millwall need at least four points from their remaining five league fixtures to be absolutely certain of survival.
Victory over Watford on Tuesday increased the Lions' points total to 55, which in previous seasons would have been more than enough to keep a side up, but Easter wants to make sure.
The striker told NewsAtDen: "That was a massive, massive result for the lads but we are still not safe yet. In my opinion, I think we are four points off safety with five games to go.
"From what I have seen of Watford, footballing-wise, I think they are the best team in the division so it was always going to be a tough game.
"Having not been involved in the FA Cup, the league is the most important thing for me and the fans want to be in the division next year.
"The cup run was brilliant for the club but the Championship is our bread and butter and, honestly, that has always been the focus.
"We have another big game against Huddersfield on Saturday so we have to move on quickly."
Easter, on loan from Crystal Palace, scored in his first game against Charlton last month but is yet to register since, although he is by no means the only forward at the club struggling in front of goal.
"I cannot put my finger on why the strikers aren't scoring at the moment," he said. "I have had a few chances – not as many against Watford – but in previous home games. It happens.
"You go through phases where you're scoring and phases when you're not – it is disappointing but you can't dwell on it too much because it'll start playing on your mind and affecting your game."
The only way to get those 59 points is if the forwards start putting their limited chances away and we don't make any more cockups at the back.
Hopefully now Shaun has shown the other forwards where the goal is perhaps we can expect a few more.
Don't really want to get our points with 0-0 draws I don't think my nerves can take it.
But at the end of the day I will take them any way we can and I'ii just be a basket case at the end of it.
COYL
This has to be the closest division ever - from Brighton right down the table to Barnsley, there's not a great deal of difference (or quality) between all the teams.
I thought we were the unluckiest team ever to go down on 52 points in 1996, but this season there'll probably be two go down with more points than that total. Until we scored last night it was starting to look we might be on the slippery slope, but that win was crucial - I reckon we need about three more points from five games to be sure.
I think a draw and a win will do. Good to see a loanee paying an interest, he's looked alright up to now, shown really good movement just needs a decent no.10 to play off. Felt sorry for him Tuesday night, think he deserved more from the boys. Come on wall lets get these points ASAP so we can rest easy till the summer.
Can't believe last nights win was the first home midweek win in the league for 18 months.
I can I hate it when our home games are Tuesday nights and when they get moved we are awful. Fans nor players can get up for it.
We're not much better at home on Saturdays either.
We've lost more home games than most but 5 of these have been since our goal threat went to Leicester. The home results and lack of goals are inextricably linked. If we sort out the goals for, the home form should improve. When teams sort out their back line and stop conceding goals it's often at the expense of attacking play and it takes a while to find the right balance. We have been creating chances recently so that's a plus but unfortunately we have a really poor forward line and that's the crux of the matter. We're all pinning our hopes on Sean Batt for the rest of the season, deserves his chance, but it's a fair reflection of where we are up front at right now.
Ain't that the truth
