FORMER Millwall assistant boss Ray Wilkins says the demanding nature of the club's support means only a certain type of player can ever succeed at The Den.
The 55-year-old, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that without a good rapport with Lions fans, talent counts for little in SE16.
"As a player you have to accept at clubs like Millwall the supporters are quite demanding," he told Lions Live.
"They demand 100 percent commitment, as they rightly should do.
"You might get a good ball player who's not a good tackler – but that's not acceptable with the Millwall fans, because they want him to get stuck in.
"Then there are some players who get really stuck in and can't pass water. Some aren't even as good as that. It does take a certain type.
"But once you become a hero for the Millwall supporters, you're never forgotten."
