Millwall midfielder a doubt for Wembley with knee injury

MIDFIELDER Liam Trotter is a doubt for Millwall's FA Cup semi-final against Wigan on Saturday after picking up a knee injury in training.

Trotter missed the Lions' 2-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday and Jackett admits he could also be without the 24-year-old for the Wembley clash.

Jackett said: "He has a knee injury – we're not quite sure but there's some swelling and tightness. He is 50-50. We'll see on either Thursday or Friday, it will be as late as that, whether he recovers."

Jackett was pleased to see James Henry come through his injury return unscathed against the Owls but suggested it may be too soon to give the winger 90 minutes against the Latics.

"I would have to talk to him," he said. "I am presuming he is fine and there's been no reaction to his injury. He certainly looked okay and played well. I hope he's fine for Saturday.

"Whether fitness-wise it would be right to start him, we'll see. He's been out for four or five weeks so I will go on what I see in training over the next few days and how he feels."

Agree Trotter will not be missed.
Abdou and Wright are not strong or good enough for this match.
Wright should be put out on loan to gain experience.

The way Hulse,Marquis,Trotter,Keogh and Easter have played in the last 8 games they should not be
considered to be in the starting eleven. A.Smith should be played in midfield he has pace and is a good striker of the ball, he is not a full back. We need a complete change of formation.
To stand any chance on Saturday the team should be
    Forde
    Dunne Shittu Beevers Lowry
    St Ledger A.Smith J.Smith
    Henry C.Taylor
    Batt

at least the above are in some kind of form
    What does everybody think.

4-5-1 pretty much as you've said with A.Smith at right midfield. Doubt Batt or Easter will get the chance, KJ will probably persist with Hulse.
We have to stop them playing first and try and get some set pieces in and around their box. They are a good side but if we can rattle 'em in midfield, stop Gomez creating, keep Maloney and McManaman quiet and stay strong at the back we have a squeak. COYL

I'm not upset ny this news. Most believe he's lost interest. I don't think we should let him go on the summer though. He's only 24 and still got time to turn his career around.

    Shame ; (
    Easter can't play
Henry may come off the bench too much risk involved if he starts and comes off at 0-0 well lose shape balance and confidence.his is the hardest decision for KJ I believe he's a better starter and we look and play better with Taylor and Henry starting.
I think it will be a 4-2-3-1 changing to 4-5-1
    Starting 11
    Ford
    Dunne shittu beevers Lowry
    Jimmy j smith
    Henry keogh Taylor
    Hulse

With what's available to us and if Trotter is not fit, I would start with Fordey, same back four as our Smithy; Abdou, St Ledger and Jack Smith, Taylor and Henry wide, with A Smith at right mid if Henry is not ready to start and one up top, whether it's Hulse, who doesn't look like he could score if he went dogging, or Batt (10/10 for effort but......). If Trotter is fit, he's undoubtedly got the talent and if anyone owes us a big performance it's Liam (and on recent form so does Keogh!)

Shame about up front really cos the donkey hulse is not findin form, and don't think he will anytime soon,at least if henry can't play 90 mins bring on dunne and push smith up the wing, unfortunately I'm findin it hard to see where goals are gonna come from, but we can hope!! I will stick to my team above but if Kenny does not play Henry from the start i would play Feeney.

If anyone has seen Wigan's last few games they are very poor down the left flank.
I hope they play Figueroa as he is not very good as a left back. All he has is a powerful shot from free kicks.
It would be entirely negative to play Hulse he has shown no form whatsoever playing for us.

Even though they're all well past it they'd do better than what is going to represent us on Saturday.
