Chaplow's loan spell at Millwall cut short by ligament injury

RICHARD Chaplow has returned to parent club Southampton after a scan confirmed the midfielder will miss the rest of the season with an ankle ligament injury.

The 28-year-old old is facing between six and eight weeks on the sidelines after limping off during the second-half of Millwall's 1-1 draw against Birmingham City on Saturday.

Chaplow, who provided two assists in four appearances, would have been eligible to play against Wigan in the semi-finals of the FA Cup this weekend.

But boss Kenny Jackett's worst fears have been confirmed and Chaplow is set to undergo treatment back on the south coast with the Saints, although his long-term future there remains unclear.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Richard, thanks for your efforts, hope to see you again in our shirt.
When are we going to get some good luck.
We have lost both of the loans who looked like they would make a big difference (Afobe and Chaplow)
It seems like the whole bloody world is against us at the moment.
We have to score 2 goals each game just to make sure 1 is given.
I think that someone needs to be shot in the area before the officials would even consider a penalty.
Oh well just business as usual for MFC
