MILLWALL have completed the signing of Leicester City centre-back Sean St Ledger on a one-month emergency loan deal.

The Republic of Ireland international will link up with the Lions squad after their match against the Foxes on Friday and is eligible to play in the FA Cup semi-final against Wigan next month.

St Ledger has missed the majority of the season through injury but has featured in Leicester's last three fixtures and played in Ireland's clash with Austria on Tuesday night.

The paperwork to sign the 28-year-old was submitted to the Football Association minutes before Thursday's deadline for emergency loans.

Boss Kenny Jackett is currently without Karleigh Osborne, who has been sidelined with a hamstring strain, while Shane Lowry is only two bookings away from another suspension.

Sh***u has only one loyalty........£££ ! Much the same as anyone his age. Didn't sign twice before because he wanted more money. If he wants out, there is only one answer....another one along soon ! Trust this set-up , the best in M.F.C history !!!!!!

Absolutely over the moon with this one, great cover and will prove a very good aquisition to the team. Good work KJ. Chaplow and now st ledger, feel very confident in a comfortable finish to end the season, and he can also play in the cup. COYL

Good signing and if it helps guarantee championship football next season then it's a positive.

Luke, Absolutely agree. This is a fantastic signing.
Don't agree with others citing Shittu as holding out for more money. He's Millwall now.
I really now believe that Jackett is convincing himself that we're staying up and is trawling in those he's had an eye on for a while. A FA Cup semi isn't going to hurt bringing them in either.
Seems we now have a good defence with adequate cover, midfield still needs strengthening and as for the attack- well we need some fresh blood- let's leave it at that.
Doesn't look like we offloaded anyone this time but come the summer, I'm sure 6 or so are going to be on their way and let's hope that lessons have been learnt from our previous incoming loans and permanent transfers. We can all play being 'The Manager' and we would all makes mistakes but some of them seem much more obvious to me.
Out with the old and in with the new.

Haha, definately up theirs mate, but not Kane, I think he chose his words very wisely in his interview, he showed us a bit of respect so that's good enough for me.
Like you I think we could do with a couple more in the midfield for next season, and we all know we need a couple decent strikers in but I think we will struggle to get em, so sorting defence and midfield out is the next best thing. I bet they'll cost a couple quid aswel (chaplow & st ledger) a couple more at this standard and all of a sudden we'll look like a champship team.

I'm sure this is just a cover signing, Shittu has expressed a number of times his willingness to stay, and i'm confident he'll sign a new contract! But with Beevers suspended and Osbourne Injured, bringing in an established Championship and International player surely can't do any harm!

This comment is a bit of a joke cos I've just got back from the pub, so bear that in mind, but surely this is great news cos it means the tide is finally starting to turn and the 'foxes' are starting to realise what a bunch of see you next Tuesdays they are becoming and some of the more sensible ones want to get away before their reputation is ruined??

I'm not really sure why Leicester have let him go, he has played recently and played well at that including a good performance against ibrahimovic for Ireland. Hopefully the tide is turning and all Leicester players now want to play for the lions, by the way you can keep David nugent.

Once again, you have got to praise John Berylson for putting the money in. It is imperative we stay up this season. Well done JB now lets hope our fans turn up to home games on a more regular basis and give KJ the right to build a special team

I don't think this signing has anything to do with Shittu new contract talks. Osborne has a hamstring injury and Lowry is 2 matches away from another suspension so we needed additional experienced Centre Back cover. Even if Osborne is fit for the FA Cup Semi Final I would prefer St Ledger on the bench to cover for Shittu or Beevers. This would leave Lowry to continue at Left Back which seems to be his best position now. My real concern is that with the loan players we now have 34 players in the squad. This is far too many when we do not play in a reserve league and only need 18 players on match days. I hope the squad is trimmed right down during the Summer and a few good quality signings are made to avoid having to bring in loan players. I would have thought a squad of 25 players was more than enough.

I remember St Ledger was a young rising star at Peterbrough when Big 'Like him or loathe him' Ron Atkinson was fiming his TV show 'Big Ron Manager' there in 2006. StL was a bit of tool during that programe, but weren't we all at that age. So long as he has matured and willing to put a shift in, he will be a very good addition and immediate cover for our current injuries. Hats off to KJ for acting quickly and bringing in quality whilst we have a short term injury problem.

My 16 year old son queued from 5.30 this morning, got him and his friend a semi ticket then somewhere between the Den & Stratford dropped his ticket, he's obviously "GUTTED" to make things worse it's his 17th birthday on the 13th April and this was part of his present.
I know its a long shot but if anyone found a ticket today please take it back to the ticket office, they are aware of the situation and are also trying to help.
    thanks
