DANNY Shittu admitted it had been the "perfect week" for Millwall after they claimed back-to-back victories against Blackburn Rovers and Charlton.
The Lions progressed to the semi-finals of the FA Cup with a 1-0 win at Ewood Park on Wednesday before returning to league matters with a bang against the Addicks at the weekend.
And Shittu says those two results have given the whole club a huge lift heading into the two-week international break – with Millwall now well-poised to finish the season strongly.
"It was vital to get back to winning ways in the league against Charlton because, while it's fine doing well in the FA Cup, the league is our bread and butter," Shittu said.
"This win was long overdue. Wembley will take care of itself so the pressure was on us to get a result – the Charlton game was as big as Blackburn so it was great to come away with three points.
"We are still only a few points from safety so we can't relax completely but getting this win as well as getting to Wembley has made it the perfect week.
"I am just really happy for the gaffer and the backroom staff because everyone has played their part in contributing towards what has been a fantastic season for us.
"We now have two weeks to relax and we do not have to feel tense throughout that period."
