MILLWALL manager Kenny Jackett says the whole club is proud of goalkeeper David Forde following his elevation to number one status with the Republic of Ireland.
Forde, who was confirmed as Giovanni Trapattoni's first-choice stopper earlier this year, is set to start in World Cup qualifiers against Sweden and Austria during the international break.
"I am pleased for Fordey because he has come back into the team and had an excellent season," Jackett said. "I know how much it means for him to be Ireland's number one.
"He's come through the hard way in terms of his goalkeeping career and it's been a long road for him to get where he is.
"For quite a few years he was playing in the Irish league himself so to get in the squad and then to make his full debut makes me very pleased for him. He's worked hard to get there.
"From the club's point of view, it's a proud moment if he plays again. Yes, we're hoping there's no injury and he comes through, but we're proud that Millwall have a player in that position."
