Crystal Palace striker Easter to make Millwall loan move

MILLWALL are poised to complete the loan signing of Crystal Palace striker Jermaine Easter on a deal lasting until the end of the season.

Easter returns to The Den for a second spell, having made five appearances for the Lions in 2008 on loan from Plymouth Argyle, and goes straight into the squad to face Charlton on Saturday.

The 31-year-old Wales international is not eligible to play in the FA Cup, having played against Stoke City in an earlier round of the competition, and can be recalled by the Eagles at 24 hours notice.

Easter scored and was then sent off on his debut for Millwall against Swindon Town in the 2008-09 season before leaving to join Colchester United.

He scored the winner for Palace in their 1-0 triumph at The Den last year but has been reduced to just 11 appearances this term under new manager Ian Holloway, finding the net twice.

Couldn't cut it for us in league one so why does kj think he can in the championship when he's 4 years older as well. Another s***, useless loan striker to sit on the bench, great!

What a let down after yesterdays high. Last time he was at the den, he didn't have a clue what he was supposed to do and spent most of his time pointing accusing fingers at everybody else. Rubbish!

So Tyson is here for what ?
It's taken over ten minutes to write something about this signing and all I can come up with is what I just wrote cause I can't think of anything good to write about this signing.

Must be for cover with the fixtures coming up thick and fast. Lets face it there ain't many good spare strikers around at the mo, especially as we're getting to the business end of the season.

He's probably ben signed as cover for Tyson in case he gets a splinter in his a*** or picks up piles from sitting on the bench for so long.

Maybe, but it's how we're set up to play that's the problem with this signing. He's the same type as Tyson. We've generally played the long ball this season, hence signing hulse. The only good thing about Easter, is, I can nick a couple eggs off me kids. Would have preferred the Easter bunny.

At least we don't have to rely on Hulse. I'd imagine Hulse will be rested for the semi.

I doubt it but I hope jackett has signed him because he realises hulse is s***. Been here before and did nothing, last time he played at the den he was giving it to the crowd after scoring the winner for palace.

To sign a proven goalscorer at this time of the season (on a free trial) should be impossible. KJ has a 'work in progress' situation and is building a TEAM starting from the defence. You must have solid foundations ! Strikers don't last long, especially in this division for one reason or another (as we well know !). All we need is a few of the many chances created to be converted, without having to rely on Shittu to show the way. Trust in K.J. to get it right, after all, we might not appreciate what we have now (with bugger-all money), until after he's gone !

We need Kenny more than he needs us.
Being an old git I have spent a lot of my life following the Wall, and during that time we have always been a yoyo club.
It has never been boring, with the excitement of the ups and downs nearly every season no mid table obscurity for us. But since kenny has been here there has been a feeling of stability that especially in our recent history we have not had and you know what I like it.
I don't know if my old ticker can take too much excitement these days, 1or 2 games ie cup run ok but not a whole bloody season.
So hears to Kenny and mid-table obscurity.

I trust Kenny and I've made no secret of the fact that I rate him as one of the best managers in our history - but Jermaine Easter, my mate who supports palarse rang me up laughing his c**k off. He is not a replacement for Hulse, who has yet to impress; he is very similar to Tyson???? Why sign him?? I know it's not easy to get a striker at this time of year but I just think Easter is a waste of wages. I'd rather have gone with what we've got. Sincerely hope he proves me wrong. COYL

Maybe KJ is going back to the old formation of two backs, three midfielders and 5 forwards, he could play Hulse, Tyson, Easter, Keogh and Marquis. Bearing in mind that between them they have scored no more than 12 league goals this season, probably not a good idea. Sorry, how is Easter better than what we have already. If he isn't then what is the point. I believe in KJ, but this one has me confused.

Typical. There must be a hundred decent youngsters out there with something to prove. Why are we constantly obsessed with has-beens? 30+ players on loan smacks of short-termism. I bet if he was fully fit we wouldn't have shown an interest. He can join Tyson on the bench and together they can mock the
club at how they are costing us over £10k a week to watch their own team play! Waste of money, time & effort!!

Totally agree, watch tomorrow, Charlton have a similar problem to us in terms of their squad and form, but in their line up will be a 17yr old who has already got his first senior goal for em. Should be doing more for ours, but no it's too easy to do that, lets have a front two of an ex addict and ex palARSE.
To top it off Easter will prob get a few goals but come the palARSE game he won't be able to play and we'll be back to square one. Can't see the point in this one not when we already have Tyson.

Wish you lot could make your mind up is KJ a good manager or a chump. You can't have it always ....... Only one I have a problem with is Tyson..... This Easter fella gave us a tough time at the Den a year ago and scored the winner ....... But KJ is wasting money , get back to FIFA on the Xbox this is the real world

I think there is a bigger picture here. With the onset of goal line technology, Millwall have realised that by letting Wood and Henderson go then bringing in Hulse, Easter, and Tyson they can save their money as there is no chance of the ball going anywhere near the goal line!
