Millwall schedule contract talks with Shittu and Taylor

MILLWALL are planning to hold talks with out-of-contract duo Chris Taylor and Danny Shittu during the two-week international break later this month.

The Lions want the pair tied down for next season before the end of March and will meet with their representatives imminently so that formal negotiations can begin.

Shittu, who told NewsAtDen in January that he would "love to" prolong his stay at The Den, has held informal discussions with the club already and will be offered a 12-month extension.

Jackett is expected to hand Taylor a long-term deal after the winger impressed in his first season at Millwall following his arrival from Oldham on a free transfer last summer.

Chief executive Andy Ambler will initiate talks after the Lions' South London derby against Charlton at The Valley next Saturday.

Definitely want to keep both of these ... Danny has been rock-solid at the back, and Taylor was sorely missed while he was sidelined.

Sign them up whatever it takes. If KJ is to rebuild during the summer, these two are musts. Even when Robbo returns him and Shittu in center defence awsome. As long as we are not releagted, Taylor and Henry on either side brilliant. The making of a decent team. ( If we do get relegated, I can not see us hanging on to Henry), But we won't will we.

Don't think you'll see robinson again to be honest.

Quality players, both deserve decent contracts
Good message to the rest of em, play consistently well and you'll get an improved contract. End of this season we have a few who'll have one yr left so staying in this division is a must.

Div 1 is a very hard to get back out of as we have found out in the past, lots of heartache.
Must stay up at all costs!.
As I have said earlier I don't believe in blowing money in an unrealistic attempt at premiership but we MUST stay up because it could be a long time before we get another chance.
