Millwall sign Leeds goalkeeper on loan

MILLWALL have signed Leeds United goalkeeper Maik Taylor on loan until the end of the season.

The 40-year-old has been brought in to provide cover for first-choice stopper David Forde, with regular number two Steve Mildenhall struggling with an ankle injury.

Taylor, who has made 88 international appearances for Northern Ireland, only moved to Elland Road in November 2011, but new Whites boss Neil Warnock has deemed him surplus to requirements.

Taylor is a vastly experienced goalkeeper, having made almost 600 appearances during a club career that has taken in Southampton, Fulham and Birmingham, among others.

What a waste of time and money, surely Ryan Allsop is adequate back up in case Forde gets injured! Can't work this one out.....

A sensible short term role...especially if Forde is carrying an injury too! Would he be allowed to play against Leeds?
