YOUNG Millwall centre-back Jake Goodman is poised to join Luton Town on loan until the end of the season, NewsAtDen understands.

New Hatters boss John Still made an approach for Goodman within 48 hours of his appointment at Kenilworth Road and Lions manager Kenny Jackett has now given the move his seal of approval.

The 19-year-old, who was also the subject of interest from Aldershot, will be hoping to gain valuable experience at the Conference club, having signed professional terms at The Den last summer.

NewsAtDen revealed that the defender turned down the chance to join Newcastle United in favour of penning his first contract in SE16 and a loan move is the logical next step in his development.

Goodman becomes the second Millwall youngster to leave the club in recent weeks, following in the footsteps of striker Aiden O'Brien, who has made three appearances since joining Crawley Town.

Good luck to you, would rather have him at right back than dunne or jack smith any day. Smith is too injury prone and f*** knows how dunne has been with us for so long, awful player!!

Could he not have gone to someone a bit better than Luton or Aldershot which was mentioned? Still, at least he should be getting first team football.

Great news, needs 1st team experience, and think its the right club in the right division and at the right time, it's no nonsense down there and he'll toughen up loads providing they play him enough, they're also fighting to get into the play offs. So sll round pleased. Good luck jake I'm sure JS will look after you.

I think this is a good move for the lad, Luton play some good football and he will get some first team experience, hopefully coming back better for it next year. Feel that the left/right backs are areas that we really need to strengthen, especially with AS returning to spurs. So now we have goodman and o'brien out on loan hopefully getting ready to push on for the first team. I hope KJ gives them and wilkinson a chance, could be answers we are looking for.
