MILLWALL boss Kenny Jackett believes winger James Henry is enjoying the best form of his career after developing into a more complete player this season.

Henry has been a key performer for the Lions this campaign, contributing six assists and five goals in the league, and is a strong contender to win the club's player of the season award.

The 23-year-old is likely to sit out Millwall's Championship fixture against Wolves on Tuesday night after sustaining a leg injury in the second-half of the Lions' 1-0 defeat to Leeds United.

But Jackett, reflecting on Henry's season so far, told NewsAtDen: "James has progressed steadily in his time here over the last few seasons. His work rate and talent have always been there.

"I think this season has been his best one – his most successful and most consistent. He has been a constant source of creativity and he has put the work in for the team as well.

"You're always looking at both sides of a player – to make sure they take care of their own form and performances, which is the most important thing, and then to be a good team man as well.

"If you get enough players like that then you'll generally find a winning formula. This season, James has combined being a good individual and being a good team man, which is tough to do."

Over the moon for JH he is my player of the season so far. He's stood up when most have gone missing which is a shame because his consistent performances have deserved so much better in terms of results. In hind site he may have done the wrong thing by coming back on at Leeds but it showed the type of character that we love at our club. Shame about the timing of it though cause it means we'll be weak down the right side tonight. Don't like the idea if dunne and feeney it hasn't worked for us and the last time was Brum at home. Maybe AS to come back with feeney.
Hope the injury ain't bad James and keep up the good work.
