Flu keeps Millwall captain Shittu away from training ground

KENNY Jackett is hoping Danny Shittu will have recovered from both injury and illness in time to feature against Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Shittu missed Millwall's FA Cup fifth round victory over Luton Town because of an ankle injury and had been given an outside chance of playing against Peterborough on Tuesday night.

But the Nigerian was absent again as Posh ran riot in a 5-1 victory at The Den, with Jackett revealing after the game that the 32-year-old had been kept away from the rest of the squad in recent days.

"Danny had flu on Monday and Tuesday which has kept him away from the club's training ground," Jackett said. "Danny has had an ankle injury but he has also had a bit of flu the past few days.

"That is why he hasn't been around. I think he will be okay by the weekend, that's the plan, but it very much depends on training on Wednesday and Thursday."

Is this what things have come to. We are reliant on one player returning from having a snotty nose and this will make everything OK. I think I am giving up the will to live.

Not just one player, one of our best and current team captain. We need his leadership, love Jimmi to bits but not sure he is the 'fire and brimstone' leader in the middle of the park.

So everything will be ok with the shitt back in the side, get real and smell the gravy, with him we still lost 4 on the bounce so come Saturday he'll be back in the side but we'll be missing the regular LB so no doubt the left back we have on the bench will still be on the bench cause KJ will probably go with beevers at LB
I'm dreading the poxy coach trip on Saturday let alone the performance. Who knows maybe in 5 or 6 games it'll all be forgotten. Here's to wishful thinking.

Well I don't think he would have changed the result, but I'm very sure he would have given those responsible a right b*********. The person who should be doing that, and also dropping this lot, is of course the manager. Let's see what team is going to represent Millwall on Saturday now and whether the manager has learnt anything from last night.
