JIMMY Abdou insists Millwall's confidence has not been damaged by five consecutive Championship defeats – the latest being a 5-1 home hammering by Peterborough.
But Abdou, who wore the captain's armband against Posh in the absence of Danny Shittu, admits the Lions urgently need to turn their season around.
Millwall were torn apart by lowly Posh to the disbelief of The Den on Tuesday night and Abdou says the players are desperate to bounce back against Middlesbrough on Saturday.
He said: "Our losing run has not really affected our confidence but we are in a situation where we need some points and we need to win games, that is it.
"We have to reflect as a team. I didn't think we did enough. Even though they scored first, we started very well but in the second-half we gave the game away.
"Now we have to get back at it and look towards Middlesbrough. The manager was as disappointed as everyone else afterwards but, like I said, we didn't play that badly.
"Sometimes it is just little incidents but we gave away some bad goals which is the main reason we lost. They played on the counter-attack and we were vulnerable – we need to fix that.
"Peterborough are a good team and I think they showed that they do not deserve to be where they are in the table but now we have to focus on ourselves and on the rest of the season."
The Lions' clash at the Riverside Stadium is being televised live on Sky Sports and freebets.com are offering great odds on the match.
