MILLWALL are hoping to be boosted by the return of Darius Henderson, Liam Trotter and Jack Smith for their visit to Peterborough tonight.

The trio were all unavailable for the 2-1 home defeat to Reading last Saturday but are expected to return to first-team affairs this week.

The Lions will, however, be hampered by the absence of central-defender Shane Lowry, who has sustained an ankle injury and will be unavailable for tonight's fixture. Centre-half Darren Ward is expected to replace the former Aston Villa man in the heart of defence to partner captain Paul Robinson.

The Lions are hopeful that frontman Henderson, who has been struggling with a hamstring niggle, could return, as could midfielder Trotter, who is expected to overcome a thigh injury to be involved against the Posh following a two-week spell on the sidelines.

Full-back Smith is said to have recovered from a nasty facial injury, although Alan Dunne and Tony Craig look likely to retain the full-back positions for tonight's fixture.

Goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall is also close to a return to first-team affairs although the trip to London Road may come too soon for the former Southend keeper, who is still struggling with an ankle injury.

Peterborough are sweating on the fitness of striker Paul Taylor. The forward, who scored the equaliser for the Posh in the reverse fixture at The Den last August, sustained a groin injury against Crystal Palace at the weekend, and is rated as doubtful for tonight's match.

Forward Lee Tomlin is still struggling with a virus, although Peterborough are boosted by the return of midfielder Lee Frecklington, who has overcome a bug.

Right-back Craig Alcock partnered Gabriel Zakuani in central defence at Selhurst Park and manager Darren Ferguson may decide to stick with the same combination against the Lions, although loan signing Shaun Brisley, a recognised centre-back, is available.

Striker Tyrone Barnett, signed from Crawley Town for a fee in excess of £1 million, is expected to lead the line for the Posh in attack and will be looking to add to his debut goal against Doncaster ten days ago.
